We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Charlette Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Charlette thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

It all started in 2018 I started having issues with my left knee. At the time I was 38 and I still felt young like it was 1999😂. So I went to the doctor and found out I had arthritis in my knee. I used so many creams that didn’t work. Two years later the pain was so bad I went back to the doctor and I was told I needed a knee replacement. O no ! I’m to young for that so I met Dr. Bridget Williams who has an amazing line of products (embody) which main ingredient is cbd which is great for relaxing muscles. Together we can up with a body butter and named is Cjstar ‘s. On Your Knees body butter. I’m a comic so it had to be a funny but catchy title. The body butter is excellent for healing very dry skin and aches and pains. I know I may need surgery but this cream help soothe the pain until I get it done.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’ve alway been a people person my entire life. Always brings smiles and kind words to help encourage others. I believe that if your treat a person how you want to be treated then the will come back to you when your in need. I have to be honest with you it works. Kindness is not as hard as people think. So I’m alway looking for ways to leave my mark on this earth. By doing this I’m always the life of the room even if we are on a local public bus in always being silly. I believe laughing is the key of looking younger and living longer. So becoming a comedian was not to far off from my regular personality. I’ve been doing comedy since 2020 out of Fayetteville,NC producing small local talent shows and Comdey shows. Moving back home to Ohio I kept the ball rolling and have co produce a Comdey series called “You See Me Comdey “ which can be seen on a internet application called Shein Tv.
Over 10 local comics have had their time to shine and show the world their witty talents. And I’m not going to stop there I want my own tv network as well as building shelters for my Nonprofit called Ruthz Haven 4 Hope which was established in 2019 in Fayetteville, NC where I’ve received an award from the city for my hood deeds in the community

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

My child was shot over six times and we were homeless and I still kept working doing shows and promoting my business at the same time which when I look back at it all in surprise I’m not crazy. But I understood that if I didn’t keep going I would be homeless forever

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson that I learned was enjoy life live out loud and have a smile while doing it. Look life can and will give you colorful moments but it’s how your react to them that makes you victorious
