Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charles Woods. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Charles , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Growing up, my family was economically disadvantaged. I knew what struggling meant and how it felt to not be privy to the essentials needed to survive. There was a constant effort by so many people to support me as I moved through my childhood and public education. The love that I was shown had a huge impact on my life and the individual steps that I took to accomplish my goals. My first career of choice was to be an engineer. I wanted to have a career that made a lot of money. Little did I know my calling would be to support others. I made the statement that I would dedicate one year to public education and see where that year would take me. Twenty years later, I am still in the profession and enjoy every moment. Education is truly my calling. Being an author and speaking increases my reach to those in need and/or those that want to listen. I have experienced the good that servant leaders can do for those in their care and I want to make the same type of impact.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I have been a servant leader working with adults and young adults for twenty plus years. I assist these individuals with accomplishing their academic goals, athletics goals and/or career goals. Starting with students and/or student athletes that are working hard to graduate; to teachers, coaches and campus leaders that are passionate about their career. This year will make my twentieth year in public education, the best career in the world. There is no other profession where you have the opportunity to impact the lives of such a large age range of individuals on a daily basis. As an author and public speaker, I have the opportunity to extend my reach and impact more lives in more areas of the world. My intention is to spread positive energy and motivation to any and everyone that will listen. I work hard to drown out negativity with an infectious overwhelming amount of positive energy.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

I am influenced by the individuals that I allow into my life. The conversations that we have are very important and aid me in being a better person on a daily basis. I am nowhere near perfect but I strive to be a better person everyday. There are so many individuals that continuously support my growth from my childhood friends, my wife, my adult friends, educators, coaches and the list goes on. These personal conversations and collaboration are the most important and the most instrumental in my growth.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Organizations that look to motivate and inspire their members/staff have been my most popular clients. These clients reach out to me through my social media or I am referred by fellow authors/speakers. When you are surrounded by good people that are like minded there are no limits to what can be accomplished.
