We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Charles Thomas Jr . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Charles below.
Hi Charles , thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I would say watching those before me, asking questions and mimicking the work ethic, style, etc. of whatever it is I wanted to learn at the time.
Knowing what I know now, Every dollar would go to what it is I want to do at that time. Meaning, If I had it in my mind to record an album….do it. In this day and age, the things we do are loved by someone somewhere and we just have to get it out there so people can share their love for you or your product.
I would say patience. not understanding things could sometimes be good and or bad. Learning to trust the process and always being willing to alternate, has kept me going I would say.
I would say money, but it could have been the lack of drive to push a tad bit harder…if it wasn’t already being done. The will to keep pushing when no one else believes it will prosper, builds a lot of confidence and only makes one more eager…most of the time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Chartem Publishing Group started in 2017 to represent “Charlie T” Ceo and Brand ambassador, as well as the music publishing business side of things. The idea to assist other artists through education and music administration came about when noticing the lack of attention given to that side from various artists near and far. Supplying artists, labels and groups alike with music administration, copyrights, live performance registration. We aren’t a booking agency though we have worked with organizations to help artists get booked. Getting Charlie T exposure out in San Diego California last year 2021 to perform at Side Bar and attend a music conference. We would like for artists and fans of artists and music, to know that Chartem Publishing Group advocates for the artist first.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe society is getting there with all of the new digital outlets and platforms available for a more intimate setting between fan and artist. From live streams, to the new realm of NFT and artists being paid in digital currency, fans could possible not only support but now make money with their favorite artist. However, that good ol genuine love whether it be a play, like, share, purchase or website visit, all of that helps.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFT’s……Where do we start? Well…Chartem Publishing Group definitely plans on having some skin in the game lol…Not in a rush but looking to place a few eggs in the basket for the hybrid world of fiat and digital currency…lots of them lol. On a serious note, Chartem Pub Gr is somewhat in the middle as the value is definitely there but still see the value in the current system as well….for now. We will just have to see.
