We were lucky to catch up with Charles Freeman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Charles, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew I wanted to professionally sell music when I was 16/17 years old. I knew it was more to it than just recording a song, performing it, and then going to the next song. Working with skillful producers and engineers here in Kansas City has allowed me to create my own lane and flourish in it. So major shout out to you guys.

Charles, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My artist name is Official 2C / Huncho 2C. I am a Kansas City Native, giving life and many vibes in my artistry.
I started creating music around the ages 16/17 and I was more on the freestyle side rather than creating songs with a vision, marketing plan, and execution. During my late highschool years and early college, I began to build a foundation and learn the skill on engineering my own sound. With time, I’ve learned many different things to give my listeners a comfortable tune to vibe with. I feel like what sets me apart from other artist is my demeanor and my work ethic and me owing my own studio equipment makes life alot more easier than booking studio sessions day by day. I RARELY celebrate my accomplishments but I’m very happy and grateful for everything I’ve done in just this short time period.
I do have merch coming out very soon that’s going to bless the world and I’m so excited man. I thank everyone who contributed generously.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the urge of helping other before I helped myself. I would continuously help others before I ever thought about myself and it bit me every time.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
My journey isn’t your journey! What I sacrificed and what I’m willing to sacrifice isn’t the same thing most people are willing to strive for. I do encourage to be yourself and to be consistent, no matter if you don’t have it figured out DONT STOP!
