Hi Charles, thanks for joining us today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?
I started my career in farm and ranch real estate with a team based in Austin, Texas in 2016. After 4 years of learning from a great mentor I decided to start my own brokerage, Capital Ranch Sales, in Jan. of 2020. At first it was just me. By late summer of 2020 I made my first hire with was an administrative position. As we sit today we have 8 agents at Capital Ranch Sales and service our clients across the state of Texas. We take a very organic approach to growth. We have never had a job post but instead let talent find us though referrals within our sphere of influence.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I grew up in Bastrop, TX, which is located approximately 30 miles east of Austin. After graduating from Texas A&M University, my wife Ryan and I spent a few years in Laredo, Texas, before settling in New Braunfels, Texas, in 2012 where we live with our daughters Audrey(7), Ella(2) and son Brooks(4). As a child all of my free time was spent on our family ranches and on the water fishing with my father, which instilled in me a love for the outdoors. With a deep appreciation for serving others and a love for wildlife, livestock, and open spaces, a career in farm and ranch real estate was a natural fit.

We believe thier is nothing more meaningful than owning a piece of Texas and our pledge is to do everything we can to provide our clients with the best experience possible from start to finish when buying or selling rural land.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Our approach to growing our clientele is simple. Identify who they are and put yourself in the room with them. Every business is a relationship business and ours is no different. Buyers and sellers of rural land transact with people they know and trust. Therefore It important for us a business to stay in front of the right people to build their trust and ultimately add value to their lives.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
This is an easy on. Referrals ! We have learned that if we service our sphere of influence at the highest level and add value to their rural land needs, that they will refer all their friends and family to us when they are looking to buy or sale.
