We were lucky to catch up with Charishetta Hart recently and have shared our conversation below.
Charishetta, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Opening a storefront doing a pandemic..
Charishetta, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a wife and mother of three, grew up in Douglasville. My husband, Rontae, grew up here in Villa Rica. My entrepreneurial spirit led Me to other places to open up a bakery , but my heart and desire kept leading me back to Villa Rica. Where I have been a residence for 16 years so I felt like I should keep my business close to my kids school and home.
My love of baking began early. “When
was a kid my mother bought me an Easy Bake
Oven. That’s where it all began. Since a young
age I’ve had a passion for everything having to
do with sweets and at the age of seven I taught
myself how to bake. I was baking for family
and friends, and eventually after graduating
high school I was decorating my own cookie
cakes. I took Home Economics from middle
school to high school and worked at Great
American Cookie Company after graduation.
There, I learned to keep hustling toward my
own dream.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
My practical experiences and years of devotion led to Sweet Treats Bar opening as a small trailer. My customer base grew with me
baked goods building a loyal following. I
opened a kiosk in Arbor Place, only to have
the pandemic stifle my opportunity there.
I didn’t give up, first buying a food truck
and then answering her heart’s call to open a
storefront in the heart of Villa Rica. “I looked at
different locations, but at the end of the day it
kept leading me back here.
I wanted to be involved and give back to a
community that has given my family and I so
much. I look forward to the growth and success
of Sweet Treat Bar and my first storefront location.”
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience on social media platforms & my local newspapers ads.
