We were lucky to catch up with Chardé Diamond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chardé, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career
Sciences such as Cosmetology & Production are my specialties and what i believe to be the most valuable courses a place of education can offer. I was introduced to arts young. By my family first, then a school. Constantly braiding, crafting , traveling, innovating, entertaining and watching action movies. My Grandma even had an encyclopedia in the house. I was literal and Dramatic from birth.
Although there are many resources that are available for students, schools should have a phase focused on the growth and elaboration of the Media Arts. It’ makes sense. We watch something EVERYDAY.
An education or familiarity with film, music, and other forms will always lead young minds to pursue their own interests and passionate careers.
Having knowledge of being a Director, Writer, or Producer can make them intentional with their life & decisions.. Just knowing
“From THIS position i am deciding to let THIS moment play out”
“The character is asking for forgiveness..” so now this student understands people are not very direct when they feel humility !
I wish I could explain better but knowing movies changed my life. Learning how to workflow a production… even if i never got to touch the set, just knowing, did wonders.
Presentation/Preservation of oneself is the key to oneself ! I tell myself this because having the ability to present myself according to my career and life goals has been a struggle until i finally caught on. Taking care of your hair is a priority! Schools should make that a requirement for everyone. There are so many trends and styles that could be unlocked if we exercise our creativity and energy!
All in all I have to say Film & Beauty Industries need to be reconstructed and that starts at school.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The Diamond Dollhouse is what I named my brand because I want to be a host for my guests! & I need them to shine inside + out.
I sell Monthly/ Weekly Planners
Boutique clothing
& offer Beauty Services. I want to incorporate my film and modeling and music into the business as well (so be on the lookout).
Eventually The DD will be a community/network of industry professionals and business owners from around the world ; Selling their products/services in the online house. It’s where you meet & get everything you need. It’s online so there’s room for everyone to be a Diamond 💎
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
“Just get in the room. “ “Go outside !”
“Post!”
You have to speak to people. You have to say I’m here or no one will know you’re after something !
