We recently connected with Chantel Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Chantel, appreciate you joining us today. Is your team able to work remotely? If so, how have you made it work? What, if any, have been the pitfalls? What have been the non-obvious benefits?
One of the biggest interests (and misconceptions) I get about my work is the aspect of full-time travel and my ability to work remotely. People see my lifestyle and assume that little to no work is involved which is far from true. I’ve made my remote business successful by implementing organizational systems, lots of strategic planning and top notch communication with my clients.

Chantel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Chantel Rodríguez and I’m an entrepreneur wearing quite a few hats! My main focus however, is creating wellness lifestyle and travel content for brand partners to use in digital ads, social media and/or websites.
My job is unique in that I get to travel full-time with my family and work remotely on many projects. It isn’t the case for all clients, but most times I only need my laptop, camera gear and wifi to make my deliverables happen! I’m also pretty blessed to have my husband as my partner in life and business!
My journey into content creation began with the pregnancy of my son. I knew I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible and at the time blogging was fairly new. I decided to dive into (though I had no idea what I was doing) and eventually found myself with a production business creating digital content for global brands.
Today, I’ve proudly worked (and still work) with a long list of partners such as Google, Amazon Pay, Local Tourism Boards, Ulta Beauty and many more. This certainly didn’t happen over night but with the right amount of hard work, consistency and determination I made it happen!

Have you ever had to pivot?
Understanding the importance of adjusting when needed is key to a successful business. In my case, I started out blogging on my own website with a focus on natural product reviews and healthy recipes. I did this for a year or two before transitioning more into content creation.
Social media was evolving which meant my business needed to as well. I saw a need (and demand) for high quality digital content and invested in equipment. My husband and are 100% self taught photographers & videographers – proving once again that with determination anything is possible!
Creating content for brands that I no longer needed to always post myself, eliminated the stress of “performance based” sponsorships and allowed us to focus more on the creative side of things which we love.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Multiple revenue streams for any business is important and content creation is no different. One thing that has attributed to my success is the understanding of not putting my eggs in one basket.
When new social platforms emerge, explore them! Look into creator fund programs. Build your audience to start monetizing your social channels. Apply for affiliate programs. Making money in different ways keeps a steady pace on growth and less stress on one means!
