Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chante Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chante, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Risk taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
There are way too many times for me to count on taking risks as an entrepreneur and each risk has helped me to grow stronger & wiser! Recently I took a risk by adding a new business under my umbrella, I was contemplating with this idea to obtain party rentals for a while. I kept talking myself out of the idea that if I purchased the machines people would not rent them, but I had to instill my faith more so than my fear & decided to press the order button on purchasing an authentic popcorn and cotton candy machine. I think this was a big risk for me at the time because I was flat broke, electricity off at home, and didn’t know when I would see a ROI on this new venture. Fast forward, lights back on, and our party rentals are getting booked daily. We even just got to partner with a pillar in the city of Philadelphia name Saudia; also known as ‘Country Cookin’ to have our rentals hosted at her community pumpkin patch/coat drive. We are hoping that this risk taken continues to connect us with likeminded people as well as put our best foot forward to obtaining more. Everyone should stay on the lookout for The ‘Carnival Corner’!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
What made me branch off into the world of communications and public relations is the ability to be able to make someone’s vision come full circle. All the moments within this career, the good, the bad, the sad, and the ugly are the moments I am most proud of because I always level up. Within ‘2X The Service’ we provide branding, marketing, public relations, event planning, and creative direction services. So, any problem our clients may experience we are right there to experience with them.
I’m proud that I don’t ever give up & I don’t allow anyone that comes in my path to do so either.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was thinking that everyone would support me. When starting something that no one understands you have to know that you may not have the help or the hype you’re expecting until your start to paint the picture for everyone to see the end goal.
Unlearning this lesson was a blessing in disguise to me, because I am so used to pouring into others, I couldn’t catch myself when they were willing to pour into me. I would overthink about it, and now I know whole heartedly that anyone that doesn’t support just hasn’t been giving the proper eyewear, I just have to wait for them to catch the trend.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I recently had a pivot moment in my career just reflecting. Seeing where I started and all the things I said I would do with ‘2X’ The Service and being able to sit back & see that I’ve accomplished half the goals set out for me is truly pivotal. I truly couldn’t have done it without the grace of God & just he guidance. I have a lot more to do but I’m happy and blessed to be where I am.
Just also want to share that I won ‘ ‘Hardest working woman” award from the councilman chambers, recently won the ‘Woman of impact award, and was recently featured on Fox29 for giving back to the community.
