We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chantalle Rizzo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chantalle below.
Hi Chantalle, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I stumbled unexpectedly into photography. It all began with a friend’s tough divorce and a spur-of-the-moment decision to treat herself to a boudoir and portrait session. Seeing her glow with newfound confidence sparked something in me. I knew instantly, this is what I want to do.
The turning point came at her birthday celebration when, after a few glasses of wine, I grabbed her camera and started snapping shots of everyone. It was then that my friend uttered the fateful words: “That’s it, Chantalle. We’re going home and you are buying your own camera right now. You’re meant for this.”
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless clients, each session a unique journey of self-discovery and empowerment. From tears of joy to moments of pure laughter, I’ve witnessed the incredible impact these sessions can have on someone’s confidence and self-esteem.

Chantalle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As I continue on this journey, I’m committed to celebrating diversity and uplifting others, one photo at a time. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of helping someone see themselves in a new light and realizing just how amazing they truly are.
What draws me particularly to boudoir photography is its ability to celebrate art, sensuality and self-expression. Many people have been conditioned to believe that expressing their sensuality is taboo or wrong. However, I see it as an opportunity for individuals to reclaim their power and embrace their sensuality on their own terms.
When clients come to me for a boudoir session, they’re often seeking more than just beautiful photos—they’re searching for a way to reconnect with themselves, to find confidence, and to celebrate their unique journey. These sessions become transformative experiences, where clients rediscover their inner strength and beauty.
While I offer a range of photography services, including creative headshots, retreats, elopements, and more, boudoir photography will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s where I feel most connected to my clients and where I see the most profound transformations unfold.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Honestly, after my own divorce, I started from scratch again. With no money and only my amazing friends for support I poured all of my energy into building my photography business from the ground up. And then the pandemic hit, throwing another obstacle in my path. Suddenly, it was “illegal” for clients to even hire me for sessions.
But rather than letting these challenges defeat me, I chose to pivot and embrace another dream of mine—I became a nomad. With nothing but my camera and backpack, I hit the road, seeking inspiration and adventure. Anywhere from Mexico to Vietnam, I’ve lived in many different countries, immersing myself in diverse cultures and picking up photography gigs along the way. Despite the uncertainty of life on the road, I found a sense of freedom and creativity that fueled my passion for photography.
Every summer, I would return to Denver to reconnect with friends and clients, sharing stories of my travels and capturing new memories together. And now, after my recent return from Ecuador, I realized it’s time to start a new chapter and put down roots in Denver once again. I’m excited to build up my business even further and continue doing what I love. And not just to maintain, but to grow even more, and not just for the growth of my business, but the growth of every individual that I work with.
I’m ready to thrive and cultivate something truly amazing, both in my photography and in my life. With each new challenge and experience, I’m eager to learn, adapt, and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. This next chapter is just the beginning of an exciting journey ahead.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Ultimately, my goal is to create art that celebrates the individuality and beauty of each person I work with. Whether it’s through a boudoir session or any other type of photography, my clients can expect a safe, empowering environment where they can fully express themselves and embrace their unique journey.
