We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chanta’ Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chanta’, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
Looking back, I wish I had started my nail enthusiast journey sooner. I began experimenting with various nail polish colors, designs, and techniques at home in 2015. I frequently watched online tutorials to improve my skills. Over time, my interest in nail art grew, leading me to share my work on social media platforms in 2020. I received positive feedback and encouragement from other nail enthusiasts, which motivated me to attend nail art events. These experiences helped me learn from experienced artists and discover new techniques and tools. However, fear, self-doubt, and camera shyness held me back from pursuing my passion earlier. Nonetheless, I am determined to overcome these obstacles and continue developing my skills as a nail artist.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As a self-taught nail enthusiast and YouTuber, I initially became interested in the nail industry as a hobbyist, experimenting with different colors, designs, and techniques. My passion for creating unique nail designs and sharing my work with others has only grown over time. My commitment to staying current with the latest trends and techniques in the nail industry sets me apart from others and makes me a valuable asset to the nail community.
I am constantly educating myself and trying new things to ensure that my followers receive the best. I want to inspire and encourage my followers to try new nail designs and techniques themselves. My overall goal is to provide high-quality nail art services and share my passion for nails with as many people as possible. My followers and fans can expect genuine passion and enthusiasm, as well as a commitment to excellence and attention to detail in each and every design I create. Additionally, I believe in fostering a positive and inclusive community where all individuals feel welcome and supported in their nail art journey.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a nail enthusiast, the most rewarding aspect is the ability to express my creativity and showcase my individual style through my nails. It’s a small but powerful form of self-expression that can have a big impact on my confidence and self-esteem. I love experimenting with different nail polish colors, designs, and techniques and seeing the results of my hard work. The nail community is also a great source of inspiration, where I can connect with like-minded individuals and share our love for nail art. Moreover, being a nail enthusiast allows me to constantly learn and improve my skills. There’s always a new technique or trend to try, which keeps me motivated and inspired. Overall, being a nail enthusiast is a fun and rewarding hobby that allows me to express myself creatively and connect with others who share the same passion.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started sharing my nail art on social media, it was simply a way for me to document my progress and connect with other nail enthusiasts. However, as I continued to post consistently and engage with my followers, my audience slowly began to grow. I found that using relevant hashtags, sharing high-quality photos, and consistently posting content were crucial in building my audience. Additionally, interacting with other nail artists and enthusiasts in the comments section and on other platforms helped to expand my reach and gain new followers. As my audience grew, I also began collaborating with other artists, which further increased my visibility. My advice for those just starting to build their social media presence is to be consistent, engage with your audience, and provide value through your content. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with others and participate in community events, as this can help you gain exposure and connect with other like-minded individuals. Most importantly, stay true to yourself and your unique style, as authenticity is key in building a loyal and engaged following.
