We were lucky to catch up with Channyn Stanley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Channyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Creating authentic brands for people is one of my favorite things to do. There is a unique point of view in everyone, and it deserves to be heard. I am passionate about helping brands tell their stories and reach their full potential. Getting a business off the ground is simple, but why are you doing it? What does it mean to you? By starting from there, I like to help clients create a strategy that will help their business succeed.
Channyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m from Monroe, Louisiana, and I’ve been living in Atlanta, GA, for almost three years. I am a Brand Strategist at my company, The Bryklyne Agency. We are a multi-disciplinary agency that offers various services specific to each brand’s needs, including brand and talent management, product development, and more. It’s my duty to stay current on the market, the industry, and consumer behavior. With this information, I can offer a strategy that will place brands in unique positions to succeed. I then assemble my team to execute and deliver.
Until I started my graduate program, Luxury and Brand Management, at SCAD, I wasn’t aware of the specific title “Strategist.” Once I discovered this, I realized I’d been living in this role my entire life. I’ve been creative since the day I was born! Honestly, I always thought I’d work at a fashion house or become a red-carpet host on E!
Working towards that goal, I studied Business Administration & Textiles, Apparel, & Merchandising at Louisiana State University. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Model Coordinator for a talent agency and Marketing & Operations assistant for Sharmooz Los Angeles, a luxury womenswear brand. I assisted in every part of the brand, from debuting products to fashion weeks, campaigns, and more. And over the years, I’ve helped others do the same.
From friends, family, and classmates, I’d offer different resources to help them reach their business goals. I then realized that the approach is the same regardless of the industry. RESEARCH + STRATEGY + IMPLEMENTATION!
During the pandemic, I launched The Bryklyne Agency. Many people were starting companies and did not know how to get their names out there, make their businesses sustainable, get affordable packing materials, or create a website! That’s where I stepped in. I’d set up an initial consultation to discuss their goals and how I could help them reach them. From there, I’d send a proposal; it was magic! My biggest accomplishment is my work catching the attention of global brands. I’ve created strategies for some of the biggest tech companies in the world! That’s when I knew I was on the right track.
I want my clients and potential clients to know that when you work with me, your mission becomes my mission. I’m not just a person you hire to check a goal off the list; we’re in this together. I work from my heart.
I need to see my community follow their dreams and live the life they want, not a life imposed on them. Generations before me worked jobs they hated but stayed because they didn’t have a choice. Mental health was never a priority, and following your dreams was far-fetched! I’m here to help get stories told and position businesses and brands for success. Whether you’re a music artist, attorney, trainer, or fashion designer – it doesn’t matter!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Being authentically myself and building genuine connections. Like I said before, you don’t just hire my services; I’m genuinely invested. Even if a project ends, I still support however I can. Because of the “Why” of my company, our interactions are more than transactional. I’m engaging with posts, shopping at your store, referring your businesses to other clients and friends, or giving complimentary advice!
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth has been so lucrative for me. I’ve had project after project since I started my agency. I’ve had so many referrals, I’ve yet to advertise my business or launch it at scale. That’s the irony of working in this business. I help brands grow but don’t invest the time in my own, haha!
