Chanise, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name BareSkin USA was not chosen at random. It was a divine revelation that came to me during a moment of self-reflection. As the world was grappling with the pandemic, I found myself looking into the mirror, reflecting on the changes and uncertainties of the times. This moment of introspection led me to a profound realization – I wanted to embark on a new journey, one that would not only benefit me but also others.
I decided to create a skincare brand that would help people embark on their own journey of self-care. The name BareSkin USA symbolizes the idea of embracing one’s natural beauty and skin, of being unapologetically oneself, and of promoting self-care practices that are as unique as each individual’s skin.

Meet Chanise Gibbs, the visionary and founder of BareSkin USA. She is more than just the creator of this innovative brand; she is an industry trailblazer who has been pushing the boundaries of skincare since she was just seven years old. Born and raised in New York City and now residing in Atlanta, Chanise’s journey in the beauty industry began at a remarkably young age.
Her passion for self-care and her natural talent for making others feel good led her to gain clients even at such an early age. This early start has since grown into a successful career as a professional in the beauty industry. Consistency and discipline has kept Chanise grounded throughout her journey along with her deep love for her craft.
Today, Chanise has developed an all-natural skincare brand that caters to the needs of all skin types. The brand offers a range of products, including facial and body care items, as well as products specifically designed for beards. Chanise’s creativity doesn’t stop at skincare; she has recently launched a line of self-care candles, further expanding the BareSkin USA brand’s offerings.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the key lessons I’ve learned in my entrepreneurial journey is that no one is going to do the work for you. I had to unlearn the idea of stop waiting for help. Building a brand from the ground up requires a significant amount of hard work, dedication, and persistence. It’s not just about having a great idea or a unique product; it’s about consistently putting in the effort to make your vision a reality.
In the beginning, it was very challenging to get others to believe in my brand. There were doubts, and obstacles, but it was crucial to remember that this is all part of the process.
I quickly learned the road to success is often paved with trials and errors, but each step I took brought me closer to my goals. . I stayed focus on my objectives and to kept pushing forward, even when things were tough.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Starting a business requires substantial capital, and BareSkin USA was no exception. Initially, I invested all of my personal savings into the business to get it off the ground. However, as the brand began to grow, it became clear that I would need to explore other funding options to take it to the next level.
This year marked a significant turning point for BareSkin USA. I began partnering with various corporations, not just to help fund my own business, but also to support other women entrepreneurs like myself. Through these partnerships, I was able to secure over $50,000 in funding for other women-owned businesses.
A key part of this journey has been the development of the BareSkin USA Founder’s Community. This community has not only served as a platform for me to raise funds for BareSkin USA, but it has also become a supportive network for other women entrepreneurs. It’s a place where they can share their experiences, learn from each other, and find the resources they need to succeed in their own businesses.
