We were lucky to catch up with Chanin and Deana Malley and Pickering recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chanin and Deana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
We manage our own social media, which can be quite hard at times keeping up with our clients and future clients. We decided to do it on our own because we felt we would be able to make it more personalized. So far it’s been going well, while we aren’t the most popular character entertainment company on Instagram and Facebook, we have been able to gather quite a following. One of the biggest things that have helped us is scheduling our posts in advance, whether that is on TikTok or Instagram or even Facebook having some ready promotions or even information about our events has helped tremendously.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We have always been huge fans of Cosplay since we went to our first con back in 2017. When we saw all of the cosplayers dress up into different characters we knew this was something we wanted to do for a very long time. We first started our business working for another character company who gave her company to us which we rebranded into something unique and truly is. We offer character entertainment for business and birthday parties. One of the things that sets us apart from other character companies is we live creating new costumes to match the party. If there is a way we do our best to achieve it. We love the people who choose to work with us and we always do our best to bring as much magic as possible to every party. We are a small women,multicultural business which we are quite proud of and we enjoy enriching our community.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We try to keep in touch with our clients through our social media sites like our Instagram,TikTok and Facebook pages. We have also been trying to get better about sending emails out to all of our clients that subscribe through our website about any upcoming events. With people that come back to us we quite enjoy giving them a discount, after all Salt Lake City is very saturated with party companies and the fact that we made such an impression really makes us want to reward them.


Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Word of mouth. From working with our physical therapist to working with our local fatcats we have enjoyed working with all of our local businesses in the area. We have also enjoyed working with Valley Fair which has helped us meet so many new people to meet. Knowing that the people we meet has said we have made such an impact has been so tremendous in our growth.
