We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chanele Ramos . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chanele below.
Chanele , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
My friends actually came up with the idea for me to write an original story. We are all a part of a fandom for an actor, and they thought it would be a good idea for me to write my own story. I’ve written a few fanfiction stories, so they suggested this.
It was definitely a challenge since I had only written fanfiction which is easier because you already know the characters from watching the TV series. This time I had to create every single character on my own, as well as their personalities.
On top of that, I own a doula agency, and I am still very much hands on. So while I was writing, I was working 50-68 hours per week at the same time.
It was sheer will and determination coupled with the support from my friends that pushed me to be able to not only start my book, but to finish.

Chanele , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a mother of three, a grandmother of two. I’ve also been a surrogate mom twice.
I’ve always had a love for writing, and reading. For 13 years I said I was going to write my own original story. But as all things life gets in the way, and I put that dream on the back burner.
Until, I got involved in a fandom and met my friends.
While in the fandom, I started writing fanfiction stories on Wattpad because I missed the actor (whose fandom I’m in) while he was on hiatus.
After my friends saw how well I wrote fanfiction, they challenged me to write my own story, and that’s how my book Allure of the Siren: Temptation, Deception, and Redemption was born.
My book is categorized as boy love genre. Which means it’s about gay love. My book also includes crime, mystery, and suspense.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Writing my story Allure of the Siren: Temptation, Deception, and Redemption is all about resilience for me.
I wrote this story during one of the hardest times of my life.
I was sick, going back and forth to doctors appointments, having procedures done.
I was working 50-68 hours per week.
I was taking care of my family, as a single mom.
It was a lot. And with all of that I still finished my book. An almost 60,000 word book in three months.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I wrote this book with the actor Build Jakapan Puttha in mind. I wanted to create something that could be turned into a TV series in Thailand, and I want him to be my main lead actor.
Ultimately, that’s up to him to decide if he wants to play my main lead actor or not.
No matter what I am determined to make Allure of the Siren into a TV series in Thailand.
I won’t give up until that’s a reality. I’m doing this not just for myself, but for my children as well. I want them to see that no matter how hard things are, if you’re determined, and you believe in yourself, your dreams can and will come true.
