We were lucky to catch up with Chanece Rucker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chanece, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
When your depressed and looking for a way out. The light at the end of the tunnel was Art for me. It’s has brought me from the darkest places. I self taught my self Abstract and Fluid painting. I learned pretty quick and took it from there. The saying “give an inch and took a mile” I took 10 miles lol. Any open door I walked into it ready to take whatever I could from it. The most important skill is have fun and don’t over think.

Chanece, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a mother first to my amazing son Jeremiah James! He is the reason and continues to be my reason to step out of my comfort zone and better self. I am a Abstract/Fluid Artist. I creative beautiful custom one of a kind pieces on canvas, glass, vases, and concrete. What sets me apart from others is all my art has healed me in some way. I express all my feelings and most people can feel the energy in my work. I am proud to say I’ll have some pieces in Retailtherapyaz store for purchase after May 28th located in Downtown Glendale. I’ll have some pieces in local Fountain Hills restaurant very soon. I am colorful like my work, I love hearing people’s life story and what they would do differently. I’d love for my potential clients and followers to know that everything I do it pure and with positive intentions. I want to create pieces that are mouth dropping and uniquely beautiful.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
December 23rd 2022 changed my life and let me know that art and creating was my passion. My sister passed away at 7:50 that night. My world completely shifted no words just screams on the other line of my phone. A scream that bought chills. I remember laying in my bed a couple days after she passed with the urge to do what bought me happiness.. PAINT! I got up and went right to “Downtown Phoenix ” that’s what I call my art space manifesting.i completed 4 pieces and in one of the pieces was a half of a heart. I couldn’t make this up if I wanted to. I knew my sister with me. I recalled one of our last conversations via messenger “Aww I love it sis congratulations I see u goin far with this !!” Her death has pushed me in ways I didn’t understand. How do you write someone’s last words, how do you dress your sister for the last time. It’s was a whole emotional time and currently I have breakdown just picturing her face or hear her laugh. Art is my true passion on good days and bad one.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
