We recently connected with Chandler J. Esq and have shared our conversation below.
Chandler, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
When you hear the term “Attorney” or “Law Firm”, people normally get a specific image in their minds. It’s the suited up lawyer with a sense of confidence that easily walks the line of arrogance.
When I entered the legal industry I found that clients often had certain expectations of what they were getting into when they dealt with an attorney. Someone who would be hard to get in contact with, a stiff approach, and not much explanation of things other then “I’ll handle it”. This makes sense, because this is what is modeled to attorneys entering the legal field. “Be this way” we are taught, or else you won’t be respected.
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Client’s don’t care if you’re in a buttoned up suit. They don’t care about all the legal lingo you know. What they DO care about is how well you understand them. How well you listen. Your communication style. They want to know that you care about their situation as much as they do.
It’s not about how professional you look. It’s not about covering all of your tattoos. It’s not about making client’s think you’re all work and no play.
It’s about being a human and connecting with other humans.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
When I graduated from law school I was faced with 2 choices:
1) take a job I wasn’t the biggest fan of doing work I wasn’t passionate about, but it gave a guaranteed income (not much, but nevertheless guaranteed salary) OR
2) bet on myself and do things my way.
I saw how typical attorneys lived their day to day life— always glued to their phones, barely have time to eat lunch, and constantly bouncing around to court. I knew that life wasn’t for me. I wanted more. More time, more freedom, more connection, more travel. Just more, plain and simple. I also felt an internal battle between being a typical “lawyer” and being myself. & I don’t believe we have to choose. I don’t believe we have to fit in boxes society tells us to just to be successful. So I decided to do things my own way and reverse engineer my life. That’s when I started my own law firm.
Everyone doubted me and thought I was crazy. But I held the vision.
Now, I get to work with and protect amazing women who also hold that same vision for themselves and it’s SO special.

How did you build your audience on social media?
At Lethal Legal, our guiding mantra has always been, ‘Authenticity is the Key.’ In an era where every law firm is battling for attention, what sets us apart is our genuine, human-centered approach to engagement.
How We Built Our Presence
1. Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) Content: We’ve found that people aren’t just interested in case wins or legal updates; they also want to know the team behind the brand. Whether it’s an Instagram story capturing a team meeting or a message celebrating a small office moment, we let our community in on the daily realities of our work life.
2. Educational Content with a Twist: Sure, we share valuable legal insights, but we also make sure it’s relatable and digestible. A 60-second video explaining a complex legal concept can be both educational and entertaining.
3. User Engagement: We don’t just broadcast messages; we listen. Our team actively responds to comments, messages, and questions. The dialogue we create is just as valuable as the information we share.
4. Partnerships and Collaborations: We’ve teamed up with like-minded businesses and influencers to broaden our reach. It’s about creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem that provides value to all parties involved, including our audiences.
Advice for Those Starting Out
1. Be Authentic, Not a Robot: People can spot inauthenticity a mile away. So be yourself; it’s easier than pretending to be something you’re not.
2. Quality Over Quantity: It’s not about being on every platform; it’s about where you can make the most impact. Start small and expand as you go.
3. Humanize Your Brand: No matter how corporate your industry might seem, remember that at the end of the day, you’re speaking to human beings. Whether it’s injecting humor or showcasing employees, make sure there’s a human element to what you’re saying.
4. Value, Value, Value: Always ask yourself: What value am I providing? Whether it’s expertise, entertainment, or a sense of community, ensure that your audience walks away with something.
5. Iterate and Evolve: Social media algorithms and audience preferences are continually changing. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. Always be willing to adapt and refine your strategy.
In summary, people want to relate to people, not sterile corporate entities. By taking a human-centered approach and authentically engaging with our audience, we’ve not just built a social media presence but a community. And in today’s world, that’s priceless.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
At Lethal Legal, we believe that the best strategy for expanding our clientele is, paradoxically, not to focus on expansion at all. Instead, we pour our resources, attention, and unparalleled expertise into serving our existing clients exceptionally well.
The Lethal Legal Way
1. Client-Centric Service: From the moment a client walks through our doors, they’re not just another case file; they’re part of the Lethal Legal family. Our dedication to their needs is unwavering, whether that means being available for consultations beyond regular office hours or going the extra mile to procure essential evidence for a case.
2. Transparent Communication: Legal processes can be daunting, and we aim to make them as straightforward as possible for our clients. We maintain an open line of communication, updating clients regularly on case progress and ensuring they fully understand their options at each decision point.
2. Specialized Expertise: We continually update our legal skills and knowledge, ensuring that we offer our clients the most current and effective representation possible. This commitment to lifelong learning sets us apart in a crowded field and offers quantifiable benefits to our clients.
The Ripple Effect
While it might seem counterintuitive, this laser focus on current clients achieves several key objectives for growing our clientele:
1. Word-of-Mouth: Exceptional service is the best advertisement. Satisfied clients become advocates for our brand, recommending us to friends, family, and colleagues facing legal challenges.
2. Loyalty and Retention: When clients feel genuinely cared for, they return for future legal needs and become long-term clients.
3. Online Reviews and Testimonials: Happy clients are vocal clients. The positive reviews they leave on platforms like Google and Yelp substantially increase our visibility and credibility, making it easier for new clients to trust us with their legal needs.
4. Referral Networks: Providing top-tier service extends beyond the client to other professionals involved in the legal process. Our positive relationships with these individuals often lead to valuable referrals, further expanding our client base.
In conclusion, the heart of our strategy for growing our clientele is to do excellent work, day in and day out, for each client we currently serve. It may sound simple, but in our experience, it’s the most effective and ethical way to build a thriving legal practice.
