We were lucky to catch up with Chandler Creedon recently and have shared our conversation below.

Chandler, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think success looks different for everyone. When I started Honey Lavender, I wrote down specific goals that I wanted to achieve for my business. This gave me a good idea of what success really looked like for me, and allowed me to plan out how I’d get to where I wanted to go. Success takes hard work, even on the days that you don’t feel like putting in the work. I’m truly passionate about what I do, and this has helped me to overcome those hard days. Investing in my relationships has proven to be extremely beneficial towards my success as well. Building and maintaining strong relationships with my customers has allowed me to grow as a person and a business owner, and has definitely contributed to my success. I believe that surrounding myself with supportive people who believe in me has brought me to where I am today, and will continue to push me to where I want to go. I wouldn’t be who I am today, and Honey Lavender wouldn’t be where it is today, if it weren’t for my amazing clients, friends and family who believe in and support me every day.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, so I always knew I was destined to have my own business. When my family came to the United States from Italy years ago, they built a fruit stand selling produce in New York. My mother and father have been running their own businesses my entire life as well, so I’ve always felt inspired to have something of my own.

My passion for skincare and beauty started years ago. As a kid I was always raiding my mom’s skincare cabinet (sorry mom). I had so much fun trying out all of her products, and always felt so beautiful after doing her skincare routine on myself. As I got older, I started watching YouTube videos about skincare and makeup and fell in love with all things beauty. When I was in college studying public relations and working in the sales operations department of a corporate company, I felt very unfulfilled. I knew that there was more that was meant for me, and I wanted to do something that would better the lives of others.

One of the most special things about my career is that I get to help people feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. I offer a variety of services including corrective skincare for clients struggling with acne, acne scarring, signs of aging (fine lines and wrinkles), and other skin conditions. Being able to provide a service that helps people resolve the issues they’re facing has been so rewarding. I also offer lash extensions, eyebrow waxing, cosmetic teeth whitening, and a variety of other services. It is such a special feeling to see my clients leave their appointments with a smile on their face after spending some time with me.

Another area of my career that I am extremely passionate about is offering services for all skin types and ethnicities. In esthetics schools, we are primarily trained on how to treat fair skinned clients, as our textbooks and trainings often only include information pertaining to lighter skin types. After graduating from esthetics school I made it a priority to take continuing education courses and trainings to learn more about treating black and brown skin. I have completed numerous courses pertaining to all skin types, allowing me to properly treat and serve my entire client base, and that is something I’m really proud of.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

After extensive research, I formulated my own retail product line for Honey Lavender Esthetics. I wanted to offer my clients products that were effective, but didn’t have harmful ingredients or additives that other brands do. I prefer a more holistic approach when it comes to skincare and post-care products for myself and my clients. Honey Lavender’s lash and brow care lines are formulated with quality ingredients that are safe for all skin types.

The skincare products and teeth whitening solution that I use in the treatment room are also plant-based and meet my holistic preferences. Beauty and wellness are closely intertwined, and using healthier ingredients in your regimen (in and outside of the treatment room) can be really beneficial when treating current issues, as well as preventing further issues from happening.
