We recently connected with Chanda Ounkong and have shared our conversation below.
Chanda, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.
I always get teary eyes whenever I talk about the best boss I have ever had. Katie was the most amazing supervisor I have ever had! I worked with her for eight years at McDonald’s. She saw me grow from crew, crew trainer, all different positions as a manager, and finally being her first assistant. Katie shaped me into the person that I am now, someone who is a go-getter and is able to lead a team no matter what the situation is. I will always remember the memories we created, the way we could read each other minds, but most importantly making sure the customers were being served and the crew was taken care of. McDonald’s was by far my favorite job that I had and I will always love the McFamily. I really can’t thank Katie enough for taking me under her wing and bringing out the best work version of myself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The rewarding thing that any of my clients can do is share my photographs and tag me in the post. I love reading the captains and comments that my clients make because it makes me feel special. Knowing that my clients have chosen me to capture their special moments reminds me why I love taking photos.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
If you like something that you found on your social media page that a local artist made, like the image, share the post or even write a small comment about how cool the item is! This will make any artist smile because it means it’s hitting the target audience that this artist wants to see their work.
