We were lucky to catch up with Chance Lanham recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chance, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Chance lanham was a young guy with nothing but dreams. While as he grew older most dreams seemed more out of reach and started dying off. However, as he started getting into social media and seeing how that could grow quickly, he knew which dream had the most potential to be achieved. Chance lanham started writing music around the age of 15. No support, no way to start recording, he continued writing. His lyrics were like poetry. He was very heavy in his faith and still continues to be but doesn’t let that define his creative direction. Chance started making Christian Rap music around the age of 16. He had a whole catalog full of songs written down and decided it was time to put the words into song. After some time though, Chance decided that he would officially retire the Christian Rap and focus on the music he had planned for his dream, Country. He has so many good lyrics already written out but again had no way to get started. He couldn’t find a band. Had no soundtracks. And then he met a couple of local chaps who played guitar that helped him produce his first 2-3 songs. They were “Backyard Band”. Chance eventually found an instrumental producer by the name of JT beatz who is a platinum record producer, Chance started buying these instrumental tracks from him and recording music. While his music hasn’t taken off quite yet, we think he has worked hard enough to earn his own, since he has built everything he has from the ground up with almost no support. He speaks highly of his friends and family for helping him as of late achieve the stepping stone goals that he has. He also now owns LongLiveCountry, LLC and has turned it into an independent record label. I am grateful to be a part of his team. And honestly I am honored he asked me to fill out this interview for him.

Chance, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Chance lanham, much like we’ve already discussed didn’t have it easy coming into the music industry. He still doesn’t. But he has a great deal of support from close friends of his such as:
– Cheyenne Buckner
-Carlos Bolta
– Grant Fuller
– Shane Anderson
– Diante Lewis
– Henry Thole
And these are just a few of the names he mentioned. His successes have brought him again, to now owning his own Independent Record Label ‘LongLiveCountry, LLC’. I and the rest of his team are working countless hours to get this label set up and ready to start bringing artists in. We are also super excited to be launching 3 different Merch Projects soon!! 1 being for the label. 1 being for Chance Lanham himself. And the 3rd being his very own brand that will have collabs with Chance and the label, its is called ‘DEEP SOUTH’.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part Chance Lanham says is, “The fact that I can give people music that they can laugh too, cry too, and create memories with will also be the best moment of my career. While wealth does have some initiative, the true drive is the smiling face of the people who have the opportunity to listen to my music”.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As mentioned earlier, Chance Lanham pivoted his career from Christian Rap over to Country. Eventually this led to Pop-Country.
