We recently connected with Chad Waldman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chad , thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
The defining moment in my career was when I decided to build my own project. A skillset used only for others can never fully be your own skillset until you use it on a project you own. I made a project for myself, to prove to myself that I can do it.
The wisdom gained was that most of my daily energy was used on projects that I do not own, projects that can cut my off in a day’s notice.
If you can, start today. Build something that you own.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
How you got into your industry – Struggled with anxiety and sleep issues, so I started to explore the cannabis market. After testing products I put together a team of testers that are like me. From there, bestdosage.com was slowly born.
What type of products/services/creative works you provide – My website bestdosage.com offers cannabis consumers worldwide to read honest reviews of cannabis products sold online and offline.
What problems you solve for your clients and/or what you think sets you apart from others – Strong, honest content supported by video and images. I use the perspective of multiple testers to craft each review.
What are you most proud of – Being independent, having a tool that I can show as my own. The progress that takes daily work, is something that is forever growing and evolving.
What are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc – That we are honest, we want to show people the truth behind the cannabis industry.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I learned is that you are expendable. You can be replaced. No company is a true family, every company needs to do what makes them the best return on spend to keep the lights on. Protect yourself, build something you own. Don’t give all of your energy to your job. Only give them what they give you.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Yes, I would choose the same profession. There are amazing companies out there. Find a brand that fits your core beliefs and show them what you are made of. Digital professions these days allow flexibility, they allow personal growth. Take advantage of a good opportunity and learn as much as possible. I love my profession as a digital creator, it’s diverse and challenging.
