Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chad Austin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chad, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
My unexpected problem was me having to do the work myself, luckily this is relatively easy to do since we are an advertising company. I’ve hired employees but none of them have been consistent.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Chad Austin a 37 year old male business owner of a marketing agency I bought into it after meeting my business partner David Ochoa we sell advertising space on digital displays that are in Walmart and other locations nationwide. We make it possible for people to become a household name for their businesses. We are different from other marketing techniques like Facebook or Craigslist because we provide no competition and we have reasonable prices. We are very proud that we are in spaces or people are able to find usage and find news about our agency and our marketing techniques.
Let’s talk M&A – we’d love to hear your about your experience with buying businesses.
Yes I have bought a business it’s some what of a tedious process if you want to do it right. It’s a process where you do a lot of Investigation to make sure the business you are buying is making Revenue on top of that you need to see if the business is right for you if you can do the business and if you’re capable because you may have to do the business yourself if you have no employees or you’re just starting out. A good idea is to make sure you have an LLC and make sure you have a business bank account so that way when you acquire the business you can do so without the IRS taxing you so hard. The business I bought is marketing agency for businesses the owner was just starting to branch into something different trying something new and needed help on top of needing capital. I bought it because I wanted a business that could pretty much run itself and definitely had low overhead since that’s what’s killing businesses now is the overhead being very expensive.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
With our business We like to cater to Mama and pop businesses, And also ethnic or minority businesses. One of my co-workers who owns a pet oil shop needed help because she was overpaying on social media for advertising and wasn’t seeing any results, plus she simply did not have the money to compete with larger companies and the algorithm was shutting her out completely. I told her some of the services we provided and what we have. Once She paid for space she saw a significant increase in business we were able to place her where she would like to be featured, in a veterinarian office right in front of her clientele.
