We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cesar García Solís a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cesar, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Where did it start that’s. Good question. I’d say it began with curiosity and from there I just couldn’t get enough so I bought one machine & started reading everything I could get my hands on regarding the topic. Little by little it grew from obsession, to hobby, to side hustle to career.

Cesar, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Cesar Garcia. My first professional break was in a show named Paquitos Christmas. There I learned Andy Garcia enjoyed my work so I boldly followed. After that a couple films & shows followed, I was also a choreographer at the time. Then one day music just arose my curiosity so I wrote & remixed for a show I had choreographed, fell in love with the process so stopped dancing & acting and went full force after music.
24 years later here I am.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn to want to take everyone with me.
When I was younger I was eager to include everyone I knew or was close to in projects or jobs they had no calling for. Soon I learned that some people will literally sabotage you and speak I’ll behind your back while working for you. So I cut lose the dead weight & only began working with those skillful enough to be kept around. Those other people never heard from me again.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Ok here is the thing. In business ownership like in dance you must learn to pivot. Over and over and over. Within the idea. Within the project. Within the presentation or creation. Sometimes it’s about changing direction. Others about keeping momentum either way getting used to comfortably failing and starting again on a different direction is extremely healthy for what we do
