We recently connected with Cesar Espino and have shared our conversation below.
Cesar, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Early 2018, I’ve was faced with a huge decision, what I will consider one of my biggest risks and or as I’ve like to describe it as a leap of faith.
Around this time, I had a great over six figure paying job, while doing real estate investing on the side and also going through some personal challenges with a ten-year relationship. As I was ending my 10-year relationship and felt that my personal life was coming to an end, I was also not happy on my 9-5 job, and I took the decision that I will quit my job, my benefits and concentrate 100% on my real estate business and embark on a new journey as a full-time entrepreneur and investor.
This idea did not work out as I thought it would, because I got cold feet, and while I was ready to turn in my two weeks, I froze and did not quit my job. This was the last drawing straw that ended my relationship and set me back a few because I was scared and afraid to venture out on my own.
Because of that decision, it took me 8 months to build the courage to actually leave my job and finally November of 2018 I jump and took that leap of faith.
Seeing things now, I recognized now that the decision i had made set me back several months into my true calling and journey. And one of the things I now tell people is that the decisions and choices that we make today will determine the quality of life that we will have tomorrow, and we must act fast and make quick decisions, and when we feel that we made the wrong decision we must pivot immediately and make a new decision, rather than staying down or too long on the wrong decision.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Cesar R. Espino was born in Mexico City when the country had one of the largest foreign debts and was going through a financial crisis. Not only was he born into a poor family, but he was also born to just one parent (his mom) and never met his biological father. As a kid, Cesar lived with his grandmother, mom, and older brother, living in a room or what he called his house that was just about 200 square feet. This place had no running water, no floor. He lived and slept directly on top of dirt, with no insulation, and was made of sheet metal and plywood. He lived in this house holding four of them until he was just a few months to four years old. Around the time his mom took the leap of faith, she left her family behind and migrated to the United States to chase the American Dream and support her family across boundaries. This became a pivotal moment in Cesar’s life as this forced him to start working at an early age (at four) just to survive and put some food on the table. Throughout his life journey, he has overcome many different obstacles. Today Cesar R. Espino’s passion is to empower, educate, and inspire many through his experiences and life lessons. Cesar has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, has worked for several worldwide companies, held positions in corporate America, and is an Author of the Book You Can Overcome Anything! Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I think of resilience I am reminded of where I came from, in my book called You Can Overcome Anything! Even When the World Says “NO” I talked about my resilience, my triumph, and my perseverance to continue to push forward even when all the odds are stacked against you.
Even before I’ve decided to become a full-time entrepreneur, I had encountered many instances where I needed to have resilience to push through and forward in my business as well as my personal life. As I was working my 9 – 5 I had to continue to show up and push forward to be able to prove myself to others that I was capable of running multiple teams and multimillion dollar projects, this was not an easy task because I had to prove myself time after time and it felt as a never-ending story. This was also the case when I was working full time, having a demanding job and while doing all of that going to school full time to get my master’s degree.
The minute I’ve took my leap of faith, I was challenged with other things and this time it was being able to grow my business or no money was coming in to support me. This is that rollercoaster we all talk about when you become an entrepreneur, you have your ups and downs, and if you are not in the right mindset, with the right people, and with the positive attitude, that journey can come to an end pretty fast.
Many of us had shown resilience while going through the pandemic and this is where many fail to continue and others through persistence where able to growth and create, for me it gave me the opportunity to continue to work and grow my book portfolio (wrote a three-book series with another entrepreneur on Entrepreneurship – How we became entrepreneurs, follow our lead – it also allowed me to launched my podcast where i interview people from all walks of life and from all over the world, and it allowed me to become a business and life coach.
My resilience took me from working a 9-5 to taking my leap of faith as a full time Entrepeneur, to a coach, podcaster and now 18th bestselling author.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
After all is said and done, it really came down to the like, known, and trust factor.
First and foremost, I feel that my reputation is evolving, and it all started with getting myself out there, building and creating my brand (for me that is my name). I did this by joining multiple live groups, going to multiple seminars and or events, and being likeable and approachable.
While this might sound simple, it is not, one thing is to show up and another is how you show up. What I mean by this is that is not enough just showing up you need to be on the right mindset and be willing to learn and be moldable talent
-You must surrender, not to give up, except to understand, to take other people’s views and perspectives and see them with a different Lence or point of view.
-You must work on your mindset, I do believe that this can make you or break your, when you have a positive mindset you have a positive energy, which will allow for people to come into your space and are like magnets coming to you. like the African proverb, if there is no enemy within, there is no enemy outside that can do you no harm.
-You must put yourself out there and tell anyone and everyone what you are doing and are able to do for others (like Zig Ziglar said, you can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.
-And last network, not just on live events, I think with technology now and the fact that everyone is on social media, you want to get yourself out there in all platforms as possible.
