We were lucky to catch up with Ce’Nyia Howard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ce’Nyia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
This topic use to be very touchy for me , i’’m glad i grew out of that phase. I feel that you shouldn’t have to ask your friends or family to support you in pursuing your dreams or starting a business. Support comes in different forms; liking , sharing , posting, telling others and so on. Littles thing means the most to a small business owner like myself, a quick share will always be remembered… but i do draw the line when family and friends feel as though , you owe them free things , discounted items just to support.
I have had this happen to me plenty of times and although it has put me in a bad mental space, i always pushed through it

Im Ce’Nyia , from west palm beach, Florida. I’m 20 years old and Im the CEO of ; nyskollection and lyrhairgrowth. Nyskollection offers a varieties of things, were like one-stop shop. Hair , jewelry , and seasonal apparel during all seasons. Lyrhairgrowth is a hair growth product company i launched in 2022 honoring my late great-grandmother , Lois Russell who passed from COVID-19. She was known for a her long healthy hair, as well as myself and i wanted to honor her in a way everyone would know her. Trust me, products were tested and WORKS!
Im very proud to run these businesses because I’ve gained ALOT of business friends, learned new things and got the chance to network with others. Throughout this journey I’ve also started a group with two other wonderful ladies for small business owners looking to network and grow. This helps us all in many ways and builds woman empowerment and strength.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
The best way to keep in contact with your clients/customers is building a relationship with them and having email/text marketing. Keep them up to date with new arrivals, restocks or appreciation discounts. I love to send random “thank you” discounts to customer because without them , there wouldn’t be a business to run.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy with growing clientele is content and email marketing. You should always have content to post to keep interaction coming , doesn’t matter how old it is. A random post can help grow your clientele and relationship with followers and customers.
