Celtic , appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

I have always been in love with art. All forms of it. From martial arts, cosplay, makeup, singing, painting and into performing. It never occurred to me that I would be where I am today.

I’ve been attending cons for over 25 years but I’ve only started guesting this past year. It all started with attending a con with a friend and seeing how gratifying it was to interact with people and to share information at panels.

Hello! My name is Celtic.Honey and I am an entertainer and lover of all things art.

Hailing from the Iowa Illinois border called the Quad Cities, Fae will move your soul! Honey is a cosplayer, guest speaker and independent performer that runs panels at cons and workshops on consent advocation, martial arts, body painting and makeup skills, silk fans and other props incorporations and performs Neo burlesque, nerdlesque, drag king/draglesque nationally and has had the privilege to headline and guest at several cons and show across the country!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

Interact and share our work! Commenting, reacting and inviting friends to our profiles are a great, free, way to show support and it helps engagement which gets more visibility.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I want to spread the word of safety and consent. Con life can be a wild world and I want to bring awareness to how navigate and have a great time but safely. Add in martial arts and talking about self defense but also other aspects in my styles I’m trained in, getting to be a guest at cons allow me to bring all my skillsets together into on location. It’s been very rewarding
