Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Celia Jardon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Celia, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Strangers will make you rich! Unpopular opinion, your friends and family will not be your best clients. They may support your dreams, however it doesn’t matter what business you start, you will need to expand your network in order to truly become successful!
There are many ways your friends and family can without being a client. They can refer to people they know, interact on your social media to help increase your exposure, babysit so you can get some free time to work your business, and many, many other ways. You will still need to market your business to strangers if you ever expect to get your business off the ground.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a certified Sexual Health and Initmacy Coach! A ol’ big ball of positivity and light! I love spreading good vibes everywhere I go! I am someone who wants to leave any space I enter, better than when I arrived. People have always been my passion and empowering women is something that truly fuels my soul!
A bit of a backstory, as a wife of an amazing husband of almost 19 years and a proud mom of a 13 year old son, I was working as a Guest Services Manager working 40+ hours a week to help support my family before I started my business. I felt like all I did was work and at the end of the day I didn’t quite have enough for all the fun things I wanted to do for myself.
In October of 2019, I was invited to a Pure Romance party. I was told that only women 18 years or older were allowed to attend and there was to be absolutely no men or children allowed. I had heard of these types of parties before. You know the ones with lotions, potions and things that go buzz, but I had never attended one. I wasn’t sure what to expect, however I was in need of some fun so I accepted the invite and went to see what it was all about.
It wasn’t what I was expecting at all. The party was so much fun, and I learned A LOT! I really enjoyed being in a room with other women discussing such intimate topics (their sexual health and wellness and struggles in connecting with their partner). I personally love these types of conversations. I have always been someone who wanted to normalize the conversation around sex so this party was hitting all the marks of the things I am super passionate about!
I’m not even going to lie; I sat back and watched the money being made by the consultant and she mentioned how much ongoing training she receives and I became intrigued about the business side of things. Once I got the chance I started picking the consultants brains. She told that Pure Romance is a direct sales company that she partners with. She said she was in business for herself, but not by herself. That there was a network of women in business that helps her be successful and the amount of training the company provided to their partners kept her in “the know” and confident to be able to be a resource for sexual health and wellness products to women and couples that may have lost their spark or looking to enhance the experience they are already achieving themselves!
I left that party knowing this was that extra stream of income I was asking for.
I joined the business 6 short months later.
Since being in the business (it will be 3 years in March) I have helped women prioritize their pleasure, more effectively communicate their needs/desires to their partner(s), and helped people rekindle their love life. My main role in people’s lives is to increase pleasure and decrease pain. Sex-care is self-care!
I have learned that while there are countless other women doing what I do, my passion for people and warm and welcoming aura has set me apart from the norm. I truly love empowering woman to live their best lives. I create a space where a woman can sit in front of her mom, grandma, aunt etc. and have a discussion surrounding their sexual health and I am able to facilitate this conversation, sometimes for the very first time.
I think the moment when I knew this was for me was when I met a woman who’s libido was so low due to the pain she was experiencing during intercourse that was cause by a bladder disorder. I was able to provide her with some products and advice to help ease the pain. She messaged me in tears because she was finally able to be intimate with her husband again and about a year later she was able to welcome a new addition to their household.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
After that very first Pure Romance party, I just knew this was what I wanted to do! I was excited about it! It was the subject of all my conversations.
My plans were to join with the bare minimum kit. I wanted to slowly dip my toes in with low risk. Once the world shut down, I was ready to back out, but my husband wouldn’t allow that. He decided to match what I had saved. He said he hadn’t seen me so excited about something in a very long time and he couldn’t allow me to back out of something that brought me so much joy. He said he believed that I was able to take this opportunity and be successful in it.
With his monetary contribution and belief that I could make this business work, I was able to kick start my business with a BANG!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Before I started my business, the only social media platform I used was Facebook, I had maybe 200 friends. I never went Live or even cared to know how to do so. Since we were all on lockdown, all my audience was on social. I had to figure out a way to present myself and my products. The only thing I could think of was to be myself. As I mentioned before, I am a ball of positivity and light and I decide to spread that all over my social media. Since then I learned new platforms and expanded my exposure to more people.
If you decided to build a social media presence to market your brand, I highly recommend you just be your true, authentic self. People want real. They want someone they can relate to.
