We recently connected with Celia Hsu and have shared our conversation below.
Celia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
So far, I have been thoroughly enjoying my work as an artist. Being able to combine my interests with my career is incredibly important to me. I don’t think I could stay committed to a job for a long time if I didn’t have a passion for it. I have contemplated pursuing more conventional careers, like teaching or banking, but none of them hold any interest for me. While they may offer stability, they would also lack the joy and challenges that come with being an artist.

Celia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a dedicated designer, animator, and art director. I take great pleasure in the creative process of delivering innovative solutions to my clients. With expertise in various styles of motion designs, including illustrative, vector, and collage, I have collaborated with my team to create compelling show packages, animated videos, engaging social content, and impactful branding materials. I thrive both as an individual designer and as a valuable member of a team, utilizing my exceptional time management skills and thoughtful approach to provide insightful solutions. I am always looking for new challenges, constantly seeking to explore new levels of inspiration and overcome obstacles through the power of design.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Getting resources for learning about motion design is much easier now compared to when I first started. I do wish there were more tutorials, articles, or even just more great works available that I could have found and watched. AI is also a new and powerful tool. Despite being controversial, we cannot deny its usefulness in the early stages, such as brainstorming.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
It is always the positive feedback I receive that uplifts my spirits the most. Sometimes it’s the kind words from a client when I successfully solve their problem. Other times, it’s the progress I make that surprises the team and gets immediate approval. When my abilities are recognized and praised, it’s truly a rewarding moment.
