We were lucky to catch up with Cedric Croslin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cedric , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
This idea of streaming started one day in a PlayStation party as the conversation surrounded streamers and their skill for gaming. At that time, I said to my friends, I think I can be a streamer, I have the skill for video games, and it would be a great experience. For example, streamers such as NickMercs, TimTheTattMan, and Ninja were some people that I’ve watched in my early days on twitch. I thought to myself, I have so much great things in store for my community once I can get to a comfortable spot with streaming, we will have community day, giveaways, & much more.
The circumstances are tuff coming from Miami, everybody is secretly in competition for some odd reason. Also. video games is a core part of my childhood because it kept me out of trouble as a growing teenager. At that stage in life, it is easy to get caught up in things that’s bad for you. Gaming allowed me to share my circumstances in a safe place, whether it was financial, physical, or mental.
Far as emotion goes, there is a lot of passion in the space of streaming. We all want to be great at what we do in life so there’s a lot of ambition for me in the streaming space. I have hopes of impacting a lot of people lives with small conversation, community support, having fun which can help people overcome hard times. The ups and downs can be a roller coaster mentally because some people tie their worth to numbers in this space, which can cause anger, depression, self-doubt, etc. In this industry you have to remember that you as the creator are already great and no number of views or monetization will ever determine your worth.
Additionally, I knew this would be worthwhile because I have a talent playing video games and the way that I perform at a high-level, I know there’s someone out there that genuinely enjoy the content that I produce. I play video games for hours on end and thought to myself, how many great moments were never captured because I was not streaming it to share with anyone. Imagine explaining to people how you clutched a win for your team in a multiplayer game, and you have no video proof, which most people ask for nowadays or they have a hard time believing you.
I felt I can succeed because there’s plenty of people out there, but nobody can be me. I don’t look at people as numbers or stats, I treat them like friends and family. Success does not stop at my stream either, I raid and support many other channels to help them gain exposure to meet & connect with new people.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My particular goal or mission is to build a big community that’s a beacon of light for existing or new creators. They say if you want to go fast on your journey go alone but if you want to go far on your journey go together, and I believe in going together.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is that the amazing people I can connect and work with around the world. I’ve grown a small audience from across the pond that show tremendous love and support to my channel. Also, the type of content that I make can change at any moment. We can go from a fps game to horror or just chatting which provide a bit of variety for my content.
