We recently connected with Cecilia Mortimer and have shared our conversation below.
Cecilia, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I had many defining moments in my career, and I met with greats leaders, peers, employees and friends. Within every company I have worked for I have some life altering events and moments of great wisdom that I carry with me. Maybe one of the most defining moments were when I decided to leave my corporate career and to go out and create a business of my own based on my true purpose. It all began when a new CEO entered the company and thought very little of my achievements and struggles I had for the past 5 years. Bit for bit my responsibilities diminished and I felt that my self esteem was threatened until I understood that this was my ego getting well deserved help to be peeled off. So what I at the first glance thought of as something happened to me I soon realized that it happened for me. In the end, the fact that I left my corporate career brought me and my family to a great adventure in California which has brought growth and opportunities for all of us. My learning was that things are not always exactly as they appear in the moment and when I allow for things to unfold there is growth and learning everywhere.

Cecilia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been working as a leader and with leaders for 20 years. Since I left my role as C-level executive I have dedicated my time and energy to my highest potential, which is to elevate leaders on a global level to raise their consciousness and enter their next level.
Currently I am guiding leaders in North America, Europe and other places around the globe. Using my own leadership experience from the corporate world and with my abilities to unlock known or unknown potential in my clients to receive purpose, meaning and most of all strength to be a part of the movement to create the new leadership we need in the world. A leadership that is inclusive, global, purpose driven and powerful. Receive tools to bring forward your own highest potential, boldness and strength.
Alongside with experience and coaching skills I use ancient spiritual practices to allow my clients to reach new levels and to reconnect with the longing to live a purpose filled life. To allow for leaders to truly have the impact many of us are longing for.
We are a many people supporting the collective journey of humanity at this moment. For me, to have the privilege to guide clients unlocking their inner potential to contribute on a higher lever, is greatly rewarding and meaningful. My belief is very clear, when leaders are able to find their purpose and start to receive more perspectives and more information they will take better decisions that will create the world we would like to live in. And that is very much needed today if we look around – in all levels. Leadership can and will be one of the greatest tools when we unlock its true potential.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
To leave my career in corporate Sweden I needed to let go of limiting beliefs and fears of scarcity. As I grew up I had strong intuitive abilities but as life went I became conditioned into a traditional life where a traditional education and a well paid job had the highest priority. I ended up with strong beliefs around money and safety being tied to a traditional way of living. To be able to move forward and reconnect with my purpose and my intuition I had to unlearn those beliefs and also release fears connected to scarcity and the sense of not being enough. I am grateful beyond words for the guidance I received from different people and teachers.
In my role as a transformational leadership coach I meet a lot of leaders that wants to live more purpose filled lives but they are still bound to their conditioning. With my experiences from both leadership and growth I guide my clients to find their purpose and to live purpose full using their leadership roles as a tool for growth.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Honestly, if I could go back in time I would probably would have chosen a straighter path for myself. But I do trust that this is exactly how it is supposed to be and that my experience is turned into guidance for other leaders – and that is part of my purpose. My purpose is to be part of the conversation in how to evolve our world and to use leadership as a tool to create a beautiful future. To elevate the future world leaders to access all available information and to make decisions based on more perspectives, being heart centric and with a deep wisdom of the needs of humanity.
I don’t think I could do what I am doing today without the experience I have. But again if I look back at some of the opportunities that caught my attention in the past, like being an executive producer for a small theater or be a full time traveler around the world, that might have turned out brilliant as well. Non the less, we only got the present moment so if I could go back I would tell myself to always listen inwards before taking decision and learn how to listen and rely on the answers from the quiet voice within.
