Cecile , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
To be honest, I knew that I wanted to pursue a artistic path professionally when I was a little girl. I knew that I would be famous or a star one day because I’ve always dreamed of being on television. I used to watch America’s next top model when I was growing up, and I always aspire to be similar to those individuals. I knew that I had what it took to be a star because I knew I had the eight factor when I was growing up. People always told me that there was something special about me and that I was going to do great things but I didn’t know what I was capable of until I became an adult. I knew I did not wanna work for anyone all my life and I knew that one day I would be an entrepreneur. how do I had great picture taking skills and I knew that my smile and my natural beauty was something that would help me in a professional career. My mother always told me to be me and not be anybody else and so that’s what I stick my daily.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was on Facebook one day and I saw an advertisement about being a model and so I clicked on it. Within about 5 to 10 minutes after submitting the application and I received an email from a modeling company called no not that is based in Atlanta, I will schedule to go for an audition soon after that and when I was told that I made the cut, I felt phenomenal . After that, I came back to the agency inside a contract with them and after that I started doing a photo shoot and creating head shots and four photos of the casting myself out to different places, and I started getting callbacks to be extras and TV show. My first gig was a music video with Londynn B. One opportunity led to the next and before I knew it, I was signing a contract with a Avanti modeling company. I am now set to go to North Carolina in July for a two day showcase. I know the dream is real and can be achieved!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In short, I lost my mother to suicide in June 2019 and that was the most devastating thing I have ever dealt with in my life. I buried my mother the day before. My daughter turned two years old I demonstrated resilience by being able to read enroll myself in a doctorate program in education, and I put my daughter in gymnastics. As of today, I am two classes, shy from starting my dissertation and graduating. My daughter was recently recommended for gifted classes and she is only in kindergarten. I have beat so many different hours in my life and I won’t go into detail on them all but this was the most recent in the most devastating it has been very hard to bounce back from, I lost my queen and the only parent that I had which was my entire support system. I didn’t know whether I was going left or right but I knew I wanted to keep going so I just put myself in things that will keep me grounded and focused on my strengths. I want to turn my pain into a purpose and that is how I started modeling , I want to use the things that I cannot control and turn them into things that I can’t control by shooting for the stars. Mother always told me that she was gonna be my number one fan and that she knew I could do anything put on my mind to. That is what keeps me going, my mother in heaven and my amazing daughter!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to show my daughter that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I want to continue being her role model and continue to break generational curses in my family. As a social worker, I want to continue to change lives and make an impact in someone’s life. I plan to inspire others with my story and be a support to others that share the same interests or stories.
