We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cecile M.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cecile below.
Alright, Cecile thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered as the woman who inspired others to never give up. I want people to say that I showed them parts of themselves they couldn’t see. I want to be remembered as someone who inspired people to be their authentic selves. I want to be remembered as someone who brought people closer to God.

Cecile, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Cecile and I fell in love with doing hair as a child. Going to the salon was not only an experience but it gave me a sense of community. Knowing you’ll see the same faces and new ones at your weekly appointment and hear their stories, created a sisterhood/community. I also witnessed and was blessed to a part of hair shows. Those were everything! Seeing and being a part of that much creativity was so inspiring. I knew that this was what I was meant to do.
I started doing different hairstyles and braids for friends and family and slowly started building a name for myself. During my senior year in high school, a friend of mine introduced me to Sew-ins. Little did I know this would change my life forever. Over the years, I have perfected the natural install. My sew-in installs are seamless, long-lasting, and cause tremendous hair growth. Most installs require a “tighten/ touch up” every two weeks, however, my installs last up to three months with no tightening required. They are flat, full, built to last and look as if they are growing out of my clients’ scalp.
The conversations that my clients and I have are always memorable and informative. My clients come in for a hairstyle but they often leave with a new level of confidence as well as an awakening, The greatest compliments that I’ve received from my clients are that they feel at peace in my chair, they feel beautiful, and feel like they have a safe space. I hope to bring this to as many women as possible.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped build my reputation was the quality of my work, my reliability and customer service, how I make my clients feel, and my personality.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele since I’ve moved to Georgia has been to provide quality hairstyles and great customer service. Also, the old fashion way. Getting outside, meeting people and handing out cards goes a long way. People want to see and have a conversation with you. It helps you reach people who may not be online and it helps people feel more comfortable with booking because they’ve seen you in person.
