We recently connected with Cecie Mestre and have shared our conversation below.
Cecie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the decision of whether to donate a percentage of sales to an organization or cause – we’d love to hear the backstory of how you thought through this.
Theme Dressser has partnered with The Pink Angels Memorial Foundation with a shared a goal of empowering our community, assisting those undergoing breast cancer treatment through programs and services.
Theme Dresser hosted a group of ladies from The Foundation to an evening of sipping and shopping for a cause. We designed a limited-edition hat, our Palmita Pink, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month of October, Theme Dresser is donating 10% of the proceeds from the shopping event as well as all Pink Palmita hat sales to the Pink Angels Foundation.
Together, we aim to raise funds and awareness to support patients and families at the Memorial Cancer Institute.
Cecie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Consistency and authenticity are key. I’ve built my audience on social media by posting consistently throughout the years. I make it a priority to share photos or make reels of new inventory and typically feature myself, speaking directly to my followers and the Theme Dresser community I’ve built. I have been authentic from the beginning of my entrepreneur journey, embracing my personality and letting that shine through my channels. Collaboration is also a great opportunity to leverage – whether it be with other brands, stylists or influencers. My advice for those starting out on social media is to be your true self and have fun with the content you’re creating – if you like it, chances are your followers will too.
Any advice for managing a team?
Be the leader you want those around you to aspire to be. Collaborate with your team and meet weekly to discuss ideas and strategy that would benefit your business. Hire employees that show they are passionate about your business and brand, that will ultimately lead to growing a strong team. Set expectations, but also reward your employees when they exceed their goals or shine in a particular project. It’s important for the business to succeed, but it will only do so if your employees feel valued, heard and celebrated.
