Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to CeCe Raven. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi CeCe, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
My idea of starting a swimwear line stemmed from my love for swimwear. I purchase them at least 7 months out of the year. I’ve always believed that when you do what you love, you never have to work a day in your life.
I began by completing all of business filings, reserving a name & creating a business plan. Once that was complete, it was time to find a distributor/manufacturer which wasn’t easy but with much research, time and close attention to detail I found the perfect manufacturer.
I ordered my first batch of samples, tried them on to make sure the quality was satisfying. Once I established the quality, I placed my first order. I made sure it was customized to brand my business.
I just launched: Nov 6,2022

CeCe, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was a young adult. In addition to launching my swimwear line, I am a Real Estate professional.
My drive, ambition and consistency sets me apart from others. I’ve always been a hard worker, never been afraid to fail because I believe that you only fail if you don’t try.
Being an entrepreneur and creating a swimwear line where you’re hands on allows you to learn the In and outs of the business.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding my business was 100% funded from my other business. I have applied for grants and when I receive one, I’ll use it to continue to grow my business.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I sell on my site as of now but after extensive research I will begin to sell on Amazon as well. I do believe selling on more than one site is important when starting a ecommerce business.
