Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to CeCe Malone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
CeCe, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I own TMK Influence with my daughters Taneeyah Biscette, Meniyah Biscette and Krislyn Biscette. They are recording artists, dancers, athletes, social media influencers and brand ambassadors. Taneeyah and Meniyah are known as “TM Twins,” Krislyn is known as “Krissy” and collectively as an r&b group they are known as “Cette 3.” I serve as the general counsel and manager with my background as an attorney and business owner for 21 years. My daughters serve as the creatives as they all have a background in dance, music and theater. Krissy is also a star basketball player. I started this business for them when they began gaining popularity on social media back in 2020 during the pandemic. Within the company the goal was for them to create their own individual and collective brands by using their talents to make an income. When I realized they were marketable and making a business out of posting on social media and doing YouTube videos, I formed this business to give them a more professional presence and make their talents more attractive to bigger brands. The mission is to show them how to run a business and learn how to monetize the talents they have been nurturing since the age of 3 and then pass this knowledge on to others. In managing the company I have been able to secure them brand deals with H&M, She’s Happy Hair, Shein, NAACP Atlanta, Kindli, Vibes Music Games and many more. The dance talents of TM Twins have been recognized by major artists and celebrities such as Missy Elliot, Megan The Stallion, Debbie Allen and many more. As an R&B group I have successfully landed then a record deal with Swaggertown Records as well. The ultimate mission is to bring the company and their knowledge of the business to a point where they will bring in other talent and use their experience to help develop them. The TM Twins are freshman at Clark Atlanta University majoring in Mass Media Arts and Krissy will graduate from High school in 2024 planning to major in Digital Art. She is currently taking classes in school in graphic design and digital art. The goal is for them to put the education behind the talent and grow their business into a major corporation. The TM Twins have already started progressing with the business by forming a “creator” group on campus where they will work with other talent to help build their talents on social media and help them increase and/or start making income. Often times young talent goes unnoticed and we wanted to provide a way not only to have the youth and young adultd share it with the public but learn how to monetize it as well.
CeCe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been a licensed attorney for 21 years and have run my own practice for 17 years. In the past I owned and managed a gym for 7 years with my husband and have been managing the talents of my daughters since they were 3 (since 2007). My daughters Taneeyah, Meniyah (TM Twins) and Krislyn Biscette (Krissy), who run TMK Influence with me are performing artists and athletes. The TM Twins who are now college freshmen, are technically trained dancers since the age of 3. TM Twins and Krissy have trained vocally since 2009 and have experience in theater starting in the 7th grade. Krissy also plays the drums and piano and is also an elite basketball player as a junior in high school.
I got into this industry as a result of my daughters’ talents.
TM Twins and Krissy provide talent for brands to use as marketing for their products and services. TM Twins and Krissy aka “Cette 3” are also an r&b group with music on all streaming platforms.
Our company provides a method of marketing through our talent that catches attention, creates a trend and ultimately drives sales for budinesses. What sets us apart is that we have talent who are owners of the company, who have been successful in promoting and marketing products through social media and can provide anything from dance, music, athletics, modeling and most of all personality to help increase sales.
We are most proud of the fact that we took the time to study and test the process of how to use talents in the performing arts to build a brand and monetize which has provided much success so far.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is to ensure that our talent presents themselves in a professional and respectable manner in public and on social media which in turn makes them more attractive to brands who see their posts and conduct. I have had brands tell me that they really want to work with TM Twins and Krissy because they have such a positive image on social media. This let’s me know our method is effective.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn treating my business partners as “daughters” when conducting business. Because this is a family business, I found myself telling my daughters what to do in the beginning rather than training them and assisting them in running the business. This led to them not asking questions and me not knowing what they did or didn’t understand about the business side. I had to slow down a bit and realize that I had to play my role to really make it successful. It was a struggle in the beginning but the business operates pretty smooth now.
