We recently connected with Cazzie Lynn and have shared our conversation below.
Cazzie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
When it comes to modeling, I was in a baby pageant I won and then growing up everyone was always telling me I should model. So one day I saw an opportunity to apply for a local modeling agency I went for it and i got it. That started my transition into the world. Eventually I went solo but continued to get published and make a name for myself with my own connections. Now that it’s so different I had to figure out how to escalate to the next point because I just wasn’t getting the jobs I really wanted. It’s a lot harder for thicker darker women in Colorado so I definitely became discouraged. Then tiktok was made. I created tiktok on a whim with no intentions. I ended up going viral 3 three times with over a million views on each video and it got me to 10k followers which was a major stride for me. Then unfortunately my page got banned permanently and now I have to start over. Being a content creator is my main focus I want to be paid to be an influencer. I stream and I still make my content. So feel free to follow me and help me get back up to where I was! Lol.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well I explained HOW I get here. I mostly make funny content as of now. I used to make more pro black serious content but that’s what got me hate mail and got my page deleted so I have to tread lightly on that app. I don’t really have a niche I just go with the flow lol. Which can be chaotic for some but a lost of people who have been following me for so long already know what to expect and don’t mind it. I think still my main avid goal is to promote body positivity for sure. That will never change. I just want to create an open space for people to feel … normal.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that family and friends are NOT your biggest supporters. It sucks it hurts but it is facts. As soon as I moved to an app where no one knew me, I got the most support and the most traction. The most acceptance. Crazy right.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
This is going to be cliche but it’s the truth when I say it. Which is being consistent. Even though I had to start over it’s gradually growing again, I hate it but you gotta keep pushing for your goal. Once you’re consistent and stay in peoples faces they will have no choice but to accept you ya know?
