Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cazimir Constant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Cazimir , thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I learned photography from my brother/business partner Dazpheron (Jose Alvarado). We would spend nights on discord or face-timing. He would show me the tricks and tips on how to pose my models, lighting, editing and many more great ideas. Knowing what I know now, I honestly don’t think as a photographer you would want to speed up the learning process. I was trying to get on the fast track of learning and in that process I learned it was better to take your time to really understand what kind of vision I wanted to create. The most essential skill to learn for me was how to manipulate lighting. I can have my model stand in the same spot and same pose, but have different looks just by changing the lighting surrounding the model. As a photographer, I am constantly learning. The only obstacle that stands in my way is not being able to take photos full time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My Name is Cazimir Constant. I am Haitian-American. I was born and raised in the great city of Miami, FL. Who got me into photography was my brother/business partner. We both serve in the United States Navy and met while on our first ship and he was already into photography; I saw the images and looks he created and wanted to be a part of it. I purchased my first camera for $300 from someone online. My goal was to perfect the looks I wanted with that starter camera then I would make the investment and get a better one. I spent countless nights bothering my partner on learning composition, lighting, aperture, shutter speed, ISO; all of those things were confusing to me in the beginning, but we pushed through it and I finally understood. I had a good support system with me. My friends would come out with me whenever I asked so we can snap some photos. Today I offer a wide variety of services including portraits, head shots, boudoir, automobile and small events such as baby showers. Clients can be real particular in the kind of look they want and I absolutely understand that. If my client or model has an issue with anything I provide from them my first priority is to fix that issue whether it’s because they want their skin clearer or the sky bluer. The great thing about photography is that I am not competing with other photographers, each photographer has their own look. We can put three photographers next to each other and have them take the same image and all three images will look different. The thing that sets me apart from other photographers are my rates and packages that I offer. I am most proud of the confidence my clients gain after a photo session with me. I show my clients/models the images we take as we’re shooting, doing that gives the nervous ones a confidence boost and a whole new attitude while taking pictures. The main thing I want everyone to know is I am going to give you my best work every time. My goal is to make sure you’re comfortable with me before we start the session, I’ll laugh with you and give you words of encourage so you would feel like you have the best experience with ImCazMan Photography.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal that is driving my creative journey is being creative. I follow a lot of great photographers on social and I see what they have created and that pushes me to be more creative. Everyone has to make their work look unique. I want people to look at an image and say to themselves “that looks like an image Caz took”.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing the end job. I often post before and after shots that I took just so my followers can see how much work I am really putting into photography. I get so excited with my own I would go back and look at the final product over and over. The look on my clients/models face when I show them the final product is what keeps me going and knowing I am doing a great job.
