We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cayley Humphreys a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cayley, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
With the power that social media holds in the digital landscape, it’s getting increasingly harder for brands to stand out. At Jive PR + Digital, we are on a mission to leverage the established trust between influencers and their audience to share our clients’ stories with potential customers. We strategically pair our clients with the perfect partners to represent their brand in a genuine way. Through real people and authentic content, we help brands gain loyalty and drive more sales.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Cayley Humphreys and I am a Social Media Manager at Jive PR + Digital based out of Montreal, Quebec. I have had the pleasure of being with the agency for a year now and have recently transitioned into running our Influencer Marketing Department.
Having previously worked directly for an influencer, I have always been passionate about marketing and fascinated by the impact one person has on consumer behaviour. I offer a unique perspective having been on both sides, which is a quality that our clients appreciate when it comes to coordinating their campaigns and establishing partners to represent their brands. After a few years on the management side, I was eager to apply these key learnings and expertise to the agency world by executing, managing and maintaining multiple campaigns simultaneously. My previous experience has allowed me to carve a path at Jive while reinventing the way that we approach influencer marketing and partnerships.
At Jive, the influencer management team is responsible for leading campaigns from top to bottom, with creativity and excellent project management skills. We pride ourselves on providing our clients and influencers with guidance through each step of a campaign and achieving results. Our team is responsible for planning and executing successful influencer marketing campaigns; including strategy, influencer recruitment, creative briefs and negotiating deal terms, right through to campaign monitoring and reporting.
Finding the perfect partner is no easy task, yet an integral part of any influencer marketing campaign. At Jive, we do the leg work for our clients by strategically identifying a roster of suitable influencers who align with their campaign goals and best represent their brand. What is important to understand, however, is that partnerships don’t stop there. Our goal is to harness long-term relationships versus taking a transactional approach, which is a key takeaway from my past experience that I have now reinforced at Jive. We value our influencers and cultivating strong, enduring and meaningful relationships with long-term partners is our number one priority. By creating a positive experience and setting our creators up for success, all the way from friendly and respectful communication to fair compensation, we generate high-quality content for our clients that garner results and boost sales. We are proud that nearly all of the influencers that we have partnered with have expressed interest in working with us again, which is not only a testament to our services but also provides our clients with prolonged brand awareness, credibility and affinity.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When it comes to working with influencers and coordinating campaigns for our clients, there is a multitude of unexpected setbacks that have built our resilience as an agency. For one, influencer marketing is about building and maintaining relationships. Our goal is to have influencers work with our clients, not for our clients and when done well, there is a plethora of benefits that come from cultivating a strong bond between the two. That said, handling communication and managing each relationship is no small task, and factors such as differences in personalities or work ethics naturally lend themselves to bumps in the road. Having influencers that we can rely on and vice versa definitely illustrates our resilience as it’s hard work but always worth it in the long run.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
At Jive, we are proud of the reputation that we have worked hard to build as a PR and Digital Marketing agency. Having an incredible team, amazing clients and talented influencers is at the root of our success, however, there are a few core values that have also contributed to our prominence. As a team, we have hustle and heart, we leverage collective creativity, we are obsessed with communicating, we get results, and last but certainly not least, we are good humans. On the influencer side, in particular, word of mouth and positive testimonials have been a large contributor to building our reputation within the market. This is a testament to the positive and one-of-a-kind experience that we create for both our clients and creators from ideation all the way through to execution. We are also proud to have several case studies to demonstrate our influencer campaign efforts and successes, which have been an incredible source of new business and clients.
