Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Catrisha Louis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Catrisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage my own social media at this time. Although I am a Physician Associate I am also a content creator/micro influencer sharing my love for fashion/beauty/travel and nail inspo. I made the choice to manage myself at this time because so many start up influencer start on their own until having a much larger following and enough revenue and brand partnerships to mange collaborations/deals.
Lessons I would share firstly is not to give up. Its a marathon, not a sprint, and don’t compare yourself to others, every person’s journey and support system is different. Stay true to yourself and stay consistent, the rest will follow.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I love medicine and am committed to women’s health as an ObGyn Physician Associate but am also asked often what I’m wearing, who styles me, I should be a stylist, so I figured I would share my looks and inspo. Problems ai may solve in the workplace is just providing support and being present in listening to my patients needs, as a woman of color supporting patients that may look like me to provide optimal care.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When starting this journey as a micro content creator I had to really ask myself if I’m truly committed to this because I always like to put my best foot forward. I realized I had to revamp my Ig and deleted thousands of pictures changes my profile several times. Asked my audience what they wanted to see and change my content to gear towards that. I almost gave up… several times thinking mo one was watching and no one likes my content. I had to ask for feedback and when it was critical I got defensive and took a step back to really take it in realizing I had to be open and take the feedback to improve and I did, and it helped.
After sone changes and not giving up I earned my first brand deal with a luxury hotel chain and a couple more partnerships after.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Staying true to yourself and content will always be the most effective thing. The hardest part is being patience in your success and awaiting your time for a breakthrough, the shift in your market to take you to the next level. It will get better, listen to the feedback, be honest with yourself and pivot when needs with presenting your content but stay true to yourself and your passions.
