Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cathy Harkless. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cathy, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Yhtack in Stitches was launched to capture memories by providing distinctively branded crochet and embroidery. In the needle arts world our team, creates vibrantly textured, distinctive products for each client. Yhtack is Cathy spelled backwards adding K to emphasis tacking in stitches. The second section, in Stitches, for me means laughter as it is pure joy and passion to provide our clients the experience of a lifetime in the products and service we provide. We uniquely create embroidery and crochet keepsakes that capture life’s milestone moments. We strive to lead in the needle arts industry specializing in embroidery, crochet and a passionate highest level of customer engagement.
The Yhtack value is determined worthy by the reactions, responses, and reviews of our clients. The client that received the personalized, created baby blanket and held, touched and relished in the creation and tears flowed. The client that received a prayer shawl, and held on to the shawl using it as a tool for warmth to the body and soul. This client requested that the shawl be used for their end of life celebration. This request made tears flow for the client and the team. These responses were consistent, overwhelming and the word of mouth acknowledgement and communication proved this was a logical and needed venture to pursue the business.
The problems were solved in a unique and effective manner and our client engagement was launched to provide products for all of life’s milestones. Yhtack’s approach is definitely unique and the excitement is in the processing of the order and achieving the connection for the client’s milestone moment or event. Our team pours into our clients for the specific purpose of exceeding expectations.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One pivot for life was to leave the 9-5 corporate world to start my business, Yhtack in Stitches. I was doing the business on a part time status as a part time gig and then I made the leap of a lifetime and this has been the most amazing journey and the most rewarding. I will describe it as the best decision I could have ever made was to take the leap and it has been a major soaring journey.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The journey of leaving the 9-5 corporate world gave me the opportunity to do self reflections and take a long look in the mirror. It gave me the opportunity to focus on me and a healthy lifestyle. I got a trainer and the Monday – Friday, 9-5, time slot became my time to walk 7-10 miles daily and my mind became clear and my goals and plans for the business became focused. The creativity exploded and the end result is the success that has been experienced by the business and a major reward our clients responses and reviews.
