Hi Cathy , thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
It’s simply to never give up on what you believe in and everything else will fall into place. It’s all about having a clear vision of what you want to achieve and working everyday to grow and learn.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The Picnic Drop was born during times where social gatherings we longer happening as much 2 years ago. Today, luxury picnic events are still trending and is here to stay. We have seen high interests of engagements incorporate picnics in their surprise proposals which is lovely to be apart of. The Picnic Drop takes engagement planning to a new level by curating a inspired look from the client to creating a designated area where the “Will You Marry Me” neon sign is hung on a styled backdrop. Finishing off the experience with a picnic of their dreams to celebrate the engagement. Love is in the air and we get to be apart of it for newly engaged couples, anniversaries, birthday and many different celebrations.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is of course my cousin, Bianca. We grew up together our entire life from traveling the world together to moving another state at the same time. We have always put together small events for our family throughout the years and when we started talking about business ventures – I knew her expertise in visuals and my knowledge in sales & marketing would be the perfect match. The Picnic Drop is a family affair at the end of the day and all members help us bring our vision to life. From building picnic tables, assisting us when needed and supporting our business journey as luxury picnic & event planners.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
I called the radio station during a “Make me famous segment” that was allowing small business owners to call in and quickly share what they offer, new of business and what we done in Florida. I knew this would be a long shoot for the radio station to pickup the call for me to advertising The Picnic Drop. After a couple rings, sure enough – they answered! I was not prepared at all and was nervous to be live on air. It was to my surprise, speaking about our business was effortless and radio hosts were intrigued and allowed me to market our brand and what we offer. After 2 minutes, we gain over 1K followers and received several booking requests. It was a risk to call and I am happy I did.
