We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Catherine Marben. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Catherine below.
Catherine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
In an industry defined by precision, trust, and artistry, Corporate America continues to miss the mark. The aesthetic injectable space—an arena I’ve spent years studying, refining, and mastering alongside some of the most respected names in the world—does not bend to the usual rules of business scalability. In fact, trying to force it into a traditional corporate mold often strips away everything that makes it effective.
I’ve invested heavily—both financially and with my time—to learn from global leaders in aesthetic medicine. What may seem to some like an indulgent pursuit has, for me, become the fastest route to bypassing the common pitfalls that plague both new injectors and large-scale corporate ventures. By apprenticing under the very best, I’ve absorbed trusted techniques, ethical approaches, and subtle artistry that no manual or quarterly KPI could ever replicate. This form of immersive education isn’t just about skill—it’s about philosophy. And it’s one Corporate America struggles to grasp.
The Myth of the Scalable Face
One of the biggest mistakes corporate-backed injectable clinics make is treating patients like templates. They standardize facial anatomy, treatment plans, and appointment windows in the name of efficiency. But in aesthetic medicine, efficiency doesn’t always equal excellence.
Faces aren’t scalable. Trust is not scalable. And beauty is never one-size-fits-all.
The difference between a frozen forehead and a refreshed expression lies in nuance. In knowing when to hold back. In understanding the story behind each face and aligning treatment goals with long-term harmony, not just short-term gain. That’s what I learned from the elite—what not to do is just as vital as what to do.
Injectables Are Not Products—They’re Experiences
Another critical misstep is the belief that brand loyalty lies with the products: Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra. In reality, patients rarely walk in asking for a specific label. They walk in asking for me—my eye, my experience, and my approach.
Corporate structures often overemphasize product over provider, but the truth is that the patient-provider relationship is everything. It is the foundation of trust. And trust is what brings people back and compels them to tell their friends, family, and coworkers.
I’ve experimented with every marketing channel—Google ads, Instagram campaigns, referral incentives, influencer collaborations. They work, to an extent. But nothing has outperformed the simple, profound impact of patient satisfaction and word-of-mouth referrals. In this business, trust is the most valuable currency.
Luxury Lives in the Details
The clients I see want more than a good result. They want to feel seen. Heard. Cared for. They want to be educated, not sold to. And they want to leave looking like the best version of themselves—not like someone else entirely.
This is where corporate models falter. In their rush to grow fast, they lose the very intimacy that sets aesthetic practices apart from retail skincare or med spas. The most successful injectors build long-term relationships, not transaction-based care.
What I’ve seen through years of mentorship and hands-on experience is that true luxury in aesthetics doesn’t come from opulent offices or name-brand fillers. It comes from intention, expertise, and integrity.
The Future of Aesthetics Is Human-Centered
As the industry continues to evolve, there’s a widening gap between mass-market aesthetics and what discerning clients are truly looking for. They don’t want overfilled faces or trendy lips. They want personalized plans, subtle results, and guidance from someone they trust.
That’s where the real opportunity lies—not in volume, but in vision. Not in product pipelines, but in people. And for injectors willing to invest deeply in their craft, bypassing the noise of corporate shortcuts, the reward is not only artistic fulfillment—but a thriving practice built on real relationships.
Final Thoughts
Corporate America may continue to underestimate the power of a good injector, but those of us who’ve trained with the best know better. We’re not just offering treatments—we’re offering transformation. And no algorithm, no ad campaign, no quarterly report can replicate the magic of a well-placed syringe in the hands of someone who truly sees you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I earned my nursing license in 2005 and dove head-first into primary care medicine, managing patients with diabetes, hypertension, depression, and other chronic conditions. My job was more than medication titrations and lab reviews—it was translation. I learned quickly that a lack of understanding isn’t the same as a lack of education. Handing someone a pamphlet isn’t enough; I had to speak their language. When my patients finally grasped why lifestyle changes mattered and how each therapy worked, compliance soared and outcomes followed. That “aha-moment” formula—knowledge delivered with empathy—became the cornerstone of everything I do today.
An Unexpected Pivot to Aesthetics
A decade into nursing, I signed up for my first injectable course “just to learn something new.” I fell in love with the blend of artistry and anatomy—but I also noticed gaps in the typical med-spa experience: rushed consults, sales pressure, and minimal patient education. I realized that if I wanted to deliver the complete client experience I envisioned, I had to build it myself. So I did. Profile Aesthetics opened with zero investors and 100 % conviction that compassion and mastery could still shine in a saturated market.
My Monthly Learning Promise
Since opening day, I’ve booked at least one continuing-education event every month—from cadaver dissections to ultrasound-guided safety labs. The investment is steep (tuition, travel, and time away from my family), but it fuels three non-negotiables:
Knowledge leadership — staying ahead of emerging science.
Technique refinement — adopting safer, less-invasive methods.
Mentor access — learning directly from global thought leaders.
A Regenerative, Preventive Philosophy
While many clinics chase quick fixes, I focus on regeneration and restoration for softer, more enduring results. My signature modalities include:
Medical-grade PRP and exosome therapy
Collagen biostimulators (Sculptra®, Radiesse®)
Targeted HA fillers for structure and hydration
Secretome-infused skin resurfacing
Curated medical-grade skincare regimens
The guiding question isn’t “How much can I add?” but “How can I help your face age elegantly, layer by layer?”
Expanding the Vision: Profile Health & Wellness
Because true beauty radiates from internal health, I launched Profile Health & Wellness. Our medical providers craft individualized plans—balance, peptide therapy, weight optimization—so you can anti-age from the inside out.
Giving Back: The Profile Institute
To raise industry standards, I founded The Profile Institute, an advanced-training hub where novice and veteran injectors study facial mapping, danger-zone anatomy, and cutting-edge techniques honed from thousands of education hours. My mission is to produce injectors who are both artists and safety stewards.
Culture Over Hype
Step into Profile Aesthetics and you’ll realize that we are not here for pushy upsells—just candid conversations, long-term treatment roadmaps, and a “family first” vibe that brings clients back year after year.
Looking Forward
Two decades after my first nursing shift, I still measure success exactly as I did in primary care: patient understanding, measurable outcomes, and an unmistakable lift in confidence and well-being. Whether I’m lecturing, mentoring a new injector, or perfecting a cheek contour, my goal remains unchanged:
Educate deeply, treat responsibly, and help people feel at home in their own skin.
And judging by the flourishing community around Profile Aesthetics, that philosophy is exactly what modern aesthetics—and modern patients—have been waiting for.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Growing my practice hinges on a simple cycle: teach, prove, and care. I start by turning complex topics—like collagen loss or injections—into quick, jargon-free posts. Education comes first so curious followers feel informed rather than pitched.
Clear before-and-after photos ( I like to remove the background so it’s a clean unrestricted look) and real client stories replace promises with evidence. This also serves as social proof (I remind my students this never expires!) and also allows the potential clients to make sure your “aesthetics eye” matches theirs!
In-clinic, I focus on a zero pressure visit with extra time built in to make visits feel curated. Most people in for their tox appt will ask about additional services and it is nice to have the time to consult with them. This feels great for them as well! I like to talk to my clients like I would talk to my friends or family.
Finally, relentless learning underpins it all. I attend at least one course every month and share new insights online, signaling to clients that they’re always receiving the latest, safest care. Bundling key treatments into a VIP membership locks in loyalty and steady revenue.
When people learn something useful, see real results, and feel genuinely cared for—they bring their friends!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My biggest pivot came the year my daughter finished high school. I’d spent nearly twenty years in rural Minnesota, splitting my life between corporate-healthcare shifts and the endless chores of a family farm. The work was steady but repetitive, and in a small-town market I had no room to specialize or grow.
So I drew a line in the snow.
I told my husband—an Arizona State University alum—that if we were ever going to chase bigger opportunities, it had to be right then, before our daughter settled into college and our two hockey-obsessed boys (now fifteen and eleven) got locked into teams. We needed a city large enough for advanced aesthetics training and serious youth hockey—but still warm enough to trade snow shovels for sunshine. Scottsdale, with its booming med-spa scene and surprisingly competitive rinks, ticked every box.
Selling the farm, packing a U-Haul, and driving 1,600 miles felt like leaping without a net. I had no clinic of my own and knew no one in the industry there. Yet within months I launched Profile Aesthetics (formally Catherine M Aesthetics), found mentors who pushed me into true specialty work, and finally had the autonomy I’d craved. My daughter raced through nursing school by twenty-one, will soon finish her NP master’s, and now injects beside me. The boys thrive on the ice year-round.
That move was terrifying, messy, and hands-down the best decision we’ve ever made. It proved that comfort is often the biggest barrier to growth—and that when you gamble on possibility, the whole family finds new lanes to fly.
