We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Catelyn Picco a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Catelyn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Throughout my whole life I have been singing. When I was in first grade, I sang “Castle on a Cloud” from Les Misérables for the school talent show. I knew that I loved performing. Then, when I started playing guitar, I was excited to perform in front of people. So, fast forward, and at 15 years old, I went to Sprizzo Café in Waukesha and performed at their Friday night open mic. I loved every minute of it and strived to keep performing in my life so I constantly learned and wrote songs to build a set list that could last a few hours. Now, I am booked almost every weekend in the Wisconsin area and am branching out further into the Midwest into other states like Iowa!

I am a singer/songwriter from Waukesha, WI. My goal is to inspire others to live out their passion while I am living out mine. I perform at various venues and events such as The Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest and more! In addition to that, I have an EP available on all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music titled “Strong and Courageous.” Through my music, I am spreading joy to those around me and creating a smile on their face when they watch my fresh, country, energetic show. How did you build your audience on social media?
The main aspect I found to be important about social media is personality and consistency. People want to see a real human being as well as see your content regularly. I try to post as often as possible whether it is music related or life related! Share your story, people want to hear it!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal as a musician is to inspire others to pursue their passions.
