We recently connected with Catalina Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Catalina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Alive Design LLC that specializes in creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, with a focus on transforming homes and businesses. The firm was founded in 2020, during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a response to the increased need for home transformation due to stay-at-home orders and remote work arrangements. The founder of Alive Design saw a need for design services that could help people transform their homes into comfortable and functional spaces that would support their new way of life. With more people spending extended periods of time at home, there was a growing demand for home offices, exercise spaces, and other functional areas that could help people adapt to the new normal.
Alive Design responded to this need by offering virtual design services that could be accessed from the safety and comfort of people’s homes. The AD designers worked closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and to develop customized design plans that would transform their homes into beautiful and functional spaces.
The AD focus on transforming homes and businesses has continued to be relevant even as the pandemic has eased, as more people are recognizing the importance of creating spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Alive Design has become known for its innovative and personalized approach to design, and for its ability to transform spaces into places where people can live, work, and thrive.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Recommendations and networking are great resources to win new clients in the interior design industry. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and having satisfied clients who recommend you to others can be a highly effective way to build your client base. One way to encourage recommendations is to ensure that you provide excellent customer service and deliver high-quality work. This will not only satisfy your current clients but also increase the likelihood that they will recommend you to others.
Networking is also a valuable tool for building your client base. Attend industry events and conferences, join professional organizations, and connect with other professionals in your field. This can help you meet potential clients, as well as build relationships with other designers and industry leaders who may be able to refer clients to you.
In addition, consider establishing an online presence through social media and a professional website. This can help you reach a wider audience and showcase your work to potential clients. You can also use online platforms to connect with other designers, industry leaders, and potential clients.
Ultimately, winning new clients in the interior design industry requires a combination of excellent customer service, high-quality work, and effective networking and marketing strategies. By focusing on these areas, you can build a strong reputation and attract new clients to your business.
