We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cata Claro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cata below.
Cata , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I grew up listening to my dad singing with his guitar and my mom playing concert DVDs all day long (Shania Twain, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Gloria Estefan, Queen, etc), so I knew from a very early age that I loved how music made me feel, it felt like home. All my childhood I was a very shy girl, and so it was very difficult for me to sing in public or even mention that music was something I would like to do, I kept it to myself for many years. When I was 14 years old my dad gave my first acoustic guitar, and I learned how to play and sing my favorite songs. Little by little I started to feel more comfortable singing in front of people, so I sang for my friends, at home all day, at school and then started uploading covers on YouTube around 2008. To my surprise those videos got a lot of attention and my career started with just my guitar and a little camera in my room. That’s when I knew I wanted to make music and my dad supported me 100% from day 1, it was his dream too.

Cata , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I share my heart, soul and experiences through music. I believe that as we heal and grow, we can help others in their process too, and that’s what I try to do with my music and also with my work as a Health Coach. For me, writing songs is the best therapy, and with my songs and all the content I share every day on social media, I want people to feel peace when they need it most. I’ve been doing this for 12+ years and will continue doing it for the rest of my life.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I believe human life is all about experiencing love and serving others. When I create (music, videos, coaching programs, etc) I always keep that in mind, how can this help someone? How can I create a safe and peaceful space for this person?
Music can be a very powerful healing tool and can help you connect with people in a very precious way. My goal is that when people hear my music, they feel the same peace I feel when I’m creating it. It may sound a little hippie, but that’s how I feel.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the connection with people is the most amazing thing this career has. When someone reaches out to you letting you know that your music helped them overcome something they were going through, you know you’re doing something right. That’s my reward.
