We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cat Miggs a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cat, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Ten years ago I would have said I wished I started sooner, so much so, I would cry myself to sleep thinking back to what I thought were regrets, failures, lost opportunities, and bad luck but now I understand the universe has a plan for me. I’m now happy about my past. I believe everything I did up to now was a lesson or skill I needed to learn. I feel now I am a whole person and I have so much to pull from. I do continue to learn but when I mess up, I am kind to myself. Kindness is the key, especially kindness to ourselves.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I grew up around non-creatives and I found the biggest struggle is the UNKNOWN. To be a creative, it’s one’s own journey. Now creatives will have similar parts but everyone that is a creative has a very specific journey that only they take. My advice to a non-creative is know that the universe has their back and you can support them but trusting in the universe.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
The only resource I wished I had earlier on my journey is social media! The fact you can learn anything on youtube or share advice and tips on IG or TikTok. Join online communities to build support. I tell young artists to take advantage!
