We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cassie Compton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cassie below.
Cassie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I first knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally when I realized that every time I came home from a trip, people weren’t just asking, “How was it?” They were asking me for advice. Family, friends, and even casual acquaintances wanted to know where to go, what to see, and how to plan the same kind of experiences.
At first, I shared tips casually, but it quickly became a desire of mine to have an easier way to share the “full story.” I love sharing hidden gem spots and “Once in a lifetime” activities. That’s when I decided to start my travel blog and Instagram.
It wasn’t just about posting pretty pictures. I truly wanted to tell a story and give other people confidence to go on their own adventures. This was especially important to me to resonate with women with families. I wanted to prove that Moms and families can still chase big travel dreams.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 37 year old wife, mother, full time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and content creator/blogger. I’m the face behind LAFF Travel (Love at First Flight Travel). This is where I share family friendly and adventure-driven travel experiences. My journey into this creative path began when friends and family kept asking me for detailed travel advice. I loved telling the stories behind our adventures and I loved helping others feel more confident to go on their own adventures.
Through my blog and Instagram, I create a mix of practical travel guides, inspiring itineraries, and behind-the-scenes stories that prove you don’t have to give up on adventure after becoming a parent. My focus is on family travel, national parks, hiking, and adventure destinations. I also love to showcase the one solo trip a year that my husband and I always carve out for each other. I like to highlight epic landscapes and also show the relatable, real life moments of traveling with and without kids.
What sets my work apart is that I blend aspiration travel with realistic, doable advice. I want my audience to dream big, but also feel empowered with the tools, itineraries, and tips to make it happen. I’m most proud of building a community where people often say, “You made me believe I could actually do this.”
At its heart, my mission is very simple. I only seek to inspire Moms, fellow travelers, and families to seek out adventure. Whether that means hiking a bucket-list trail, discovering a hidden gem, or simply embracing the joy of exploring together.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, my mission is rooted in creating a life that balances both passion and purpose. I love working as a CRNA, but as my children are now school age, I’ve started envisioning a future where I can transition into part-time or PRN work. My creative journey through content creation and blogging is hopefully going to allow me to build toward that flexibility.
By growing and monetizing my blog and social media platforms, my goal is to design a career that not only inspires others to embrace adventure, but also provides me with the freedom to be more present with my children during these important years. Ultimately, my mission is to model for my children, as well as my audience, that it’s possible to pursue a meaningful profession, nurture creativity, while still prioritizing family.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by focusing on genuine engagement and community-building rather than quick fixes like “follow for follow” groups. From the beginning, I wanted my growth to be authentic and sustainable, so I invested in learning the right strategies. I joined The Creator Passport Founders Cohort and learned directly from other successful creators. Their techniques really helped me understand how to not only grow, but also monetize my content.
Consistency has been key. I post on Instagram and Pinterest daily. Pinterest has been a huge driver of blog traffic. In just 6 months, my blog went from around 100 monthly sessions to over 5000 monthly sessions, proving that consistent effort pays off.
My advice for anyone starting out is this: prioritize creating value for your ideal audience. Make sure you show up consistently. Invest in education. Growth may feel slow at first, but building a true community will always be more impactful than chasing numbers.
