We recently connected with Cassidy Handle and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Cassidy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
The trend I see amongst brands is adopting a more personal stance regarding their messaging, copywriting, and content creation. Once upon a time, you weren’t seeing the CEOs or marketing team in the brand’s content. I think as much as we’ve leaned into AI, we still crave that human connection. We’re all dying to relate and be a part of things that align with our values. So instead of surface-level, professional, and highly-curated, brands are diving deeper with their audiences–which is a good thing!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The Copywriting Mama exists to make nailing the words in business easier so you can make seamless sales without sacrificing authenticity or personality.
YouTube University showed me that small business owners were shelling out a good chunk of change to those who could put their voice in writing that sells – later learned to be called “copywriting”. After 28 days of wingin’ it, in August of 2023, my first client found me, and The Copywriting Mama was *officially* open for business.
The best part of my job is seeing overwhelmed business owners go from dreading content creation to knowing exactly what to say and how to say it in a way that sells their stuff on their website, in their emails, and with their social media posts.
Nothing beats results-driven copy that helps you convert eyes to buys without wasting precious time. The thing is… even the most rock-solid offers do not sell themselves. No matter how well they fulfill their promise, they need to paint the picture in the language their ideal clients speak, which is easier said than done.
Since flicking the neon “welcome” sign on, my roster has grown to include birthworkers, coaches, educators, therapists, healthcare professionals, fitness experts, holistic wellness practitioners, real estate agents, authors, non-profits, marketing agencies, and more.
Anyone who is determined to grow their business with messaging that doesn’t spare sass, storytelling, or a sense of humor is welcome here. My pride and joy is my clients’ responses to their purpose being communicated in writing–especially when that writing leads to more money in the bank.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
As a kid and into early adulthood, I always felt annoying. Like the mere opening of my mouth, before even letting words escape, would send people running for the hills. As a marketer, I’ve learned that your voice is a gift to those who need your help. Your audience can only find you if you speak up, stand out, and repeat the things that resonate with them. Now I’m selling daily, talking about my offers, and putting myself out there to be found. I know that if someone does find me annoying, they can excuse themselves, and they will. And that does not say anything about me or the quality of work I do.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I started my business, I converted my personal page to my business page and started throwing spaghetti at the wall. No messaging strategy, no batching, just me and my thumbs–wingin’ it daily. Since then, I’ve learned what kind of posts attract, nurture, and sell. I’ve also narrowed down my expertise from “all things copywriting” to brand messaging strategy, website copy, and emails. I stick to creating content that aligns with people who would be looking for those specific services or digital products that help with those topics. It’s tempting to overshare personal content or content that gains you buddies instead of buyers. You want a balance, but I try to stick to 80%+ biz and 20% (or less) personal.
