We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cassandra Turner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cassandra below.
Alright, Cassandra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Making the leap to plan and execute my first out of country retreat to a place I had never been was probably one of the biggest risks I’ve taken, followed closely by starting my LLC. Putting the deposit down on the location was stomach curdling but I knew that id I didn’t take that step that this dream would never come to fruition. I did research for months on where I wanted to go and the perfect spot but once finding the right retreat center it took me almost a whole month before convincing myself to put down the deposit. It was in a place I had never been the spoke a language I knew little of but my heart knew it was perfect. I also doubted my ability to actually fill the spaces it would take to make enough to profit from the whole venture. Once I finally made the deposit on the beautiful jungle oasis in Costa Rica every this fell together as if it was meant to be. I ended up selling out the retreat, finding a teacher to accompany me that spoke very fluent Spanish, and was blown away by how everything turned out. I still can envision the first sound bath we had under the private waterfall on the property and know that it will be an experience I will never forget and will keep me pushing for more every day!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up never really knowing exactly what I wonted to be or where I might fit in. I had no clue what to do with myself out of high school but knew I wanted to be of service, and had worked in the food service industry for a few years already. I decided to pursue culinary school because I loved to cook and make people feel loved through food. After completing a 4000 hour apprenticeship and starting my career in the back of the house of a government funded restaurant I was appalled by how we feed the people around us. during all of this my mom had been suffering from brain cancer and all that went with treatments. I made a decision to go for my holistic health certification because I was driven to learn how to heal through the power of food. started working with clients one on one from a young age shortly after after obtaining that. It left me hungry more knowledge on how to heal and love oneself and the world around. I ended up getting my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training certification and 500hr Yoga Therapy certification. I opened up my own studio in Golden, Co where I hosted daily classes, donation fundraisers, and mini meditation retreats. Unfortunately we closed down durning covid, but that made the space for me to obtain my master reiki certification and sound therapy certification. Since then I have been working privately and in groups to bring all of those skills etc together to provide intuitive unique sessions for the growth and love of everyone involved. Within the past two years I have also begin to weave in astrology and energetic into my sessions to create an even more individualized experience. Each session involves energetic cleansing, sound healing, stretch/touch/yoga therapy, and individually crafted tea with herbs to assist in what ever intention we are manifesting together,

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
1000% I would do exactly what I am doing now. There is no feeling I enjoy more than creating conscious loving connections. I plan on growing and learning even more from here.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy I have found for building my clientele is getting my face and my words out into the community. Social media has not brought me hardly any clients like many hope, it the reaching out personally to local businesses and attending other events rooted in the same modalities that I work with that have gotten me the most traction. We can’t hide or be silent in this work, we have to seek what we desire.
