We recently connected with Cassandra Sparks and have shared our conversation below.
Cassandra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Cassandra Sparks, LLC is centered around the idea of living boldly and living authentically. Living boldly can often be interpreted as taking risks. One thing I have learned about living boldly is that there is no such thing as too big or too small of a bold move. Every bold choice matters and gets us closer on the path to living our most authentic lives.
I am a motivational speaker and a coach who walks the walk and talks the talk when it comes to living boldly (taking risks) and living authentically. There are 3 bold AF moves I made in my life that I share in my Signature Sparkle Session motivational talk. A fourth, and the most recent bold AF move I made was to leave a full-time job in Charleston in order to give my business the time, love, and attention it needs to grow & scale quickly. I left a steady paycheck, without another job on-deck, because I believe in the hustle, and I believe that this work is what I was meant to do.
So here I am, putting my heart and soul into the business, and flexing every day with the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur. I am so excited for what is ahead and how brightly Cassandra Sparks will sparkle!
Cassandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Cassandra Sparks, and I believe in more than just living – I champion the art of living boldly and authentically. In the tapestry of life, I aim to be the spark that ignites your flame, propelling you to set your soul ablaze with passion and purpose.
I offer motivational talks and 1-1 coaching sessions that center around empowering women, college students, and others to understand why it is imperative they learn to live boldly and live authentically.
Giving up the desire or need to please everyone. Live your life for YOU, and lean on those who support you to hold you accountable for living your authentic life.
Living boldly means:
– Being brave and courageous in how you approach life.
– Stepping out of your comfort zone and taking risks.
– Following your passions and dreams…even if you might be afraid.
– Not letting fear or worry from paralyzing you from trying new things.
– Expressing yourself honestly and not worrying about what others think.
– Making choices based on what you truly believe in, not what others expect.
– Being confident in who you are and not being afraid to show it.
= Facing challenges and obstacles with a positive attitude.
= Trying new things and seeking out new experiences.
= Embracing the adventure of life and enjoying every moment.
Living authentically means:
– Being true to oneself by aligning your actions with your values, embracing your true identity, and making conscious choices based on your genuine desires and beliefs.
– Being self-aware, which includes accepting your strengths and weaknesses.
– You are on a path to living a meaningful and fulfilling life because you are making choices that are true to you.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I am immensely inspired by the works of Brené Brown, who studies and then beautifully adapts academically-based ideas to make sense, hit the soul hard, and inspire greatness.
Dale Carnegie, one of the greatest – and the original – motivators and trainers in the last 200 years, created a timeless framework of understanding the human experience.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the belief that I need security (emotional, financial, etc.) in order to thrive. I snuffed out that limiting belief and struck out on a bold and courageous voyage of independence and professional greatness.
I moved from New York by myself to Charleston, where I knew no one. I made connections with people, and built a support network. I found a job that allowed me to appreciate the city in a meaningful way. I learned how to live as a single person after being coupled for 16 years. I learned how to live in an expensive city where my income barely covered the cost of living (that lesson was a hard one to learn, and one I did not often enjoy).
I left my very secure life in New York and took an ultimate leap of faith, where believing in myself and having the support of those closest to me, were at the heart of my experiences.
